Hanging out cool, in Friedrichshain.
Friedrichshain is situated east of Alexander-platz and is probably the last resort for Berlin’s famous alternative subculture. It is the last district to have been cleared of squatters and is still the center of Berlin's left-wing anarchist scene.
Architecturally speaking, Friedrichshain is an intriguing mix of monumental Stalin-era mammoths (along Karl-Marx-Allee) and stylish, late-nineteenth century town houses. The area around Simon-Dach-Straße and Boxhagenerplatz is heaving with alternative bars, cafes and clubs and is a popular spot with students and artists as well as young Berliners.
Every Saturday Boxhagenerpaltz offers a farmer’s Market while every Sunday the popular flea Market specializes in Gdr souvenirs, young artists selling their work, records, books as well as trash you may just take a shine to. Not far from here is the East Side Gallery, a piece of the wall one kilometer long that after the fall of the wall was turned into a work of art by international artists. On the other side of the wall is the Spree river which also boasts bars and clubs along its banks.
For an inner city district, Friedrichshain offers a large amount of green areas perfect for walking, grilling or simply relaxing. The Friedrichshain Volkspark, one of the biggest parks in Berlin and bursting with activity, is a short bike ride away.
From the underground station Frankfurter Tor its only short 5 minute trip to Alexanderplatz, with its numerous tourist curiosities (television tower, red City council, Berlin cathedral, the museum island (with Pérgamon Museum, altes Museum, Old national Gallery, Bodemuseum, Museum GDR and the Berliner Dom- the great cathedralof berlin), and an endless list of historical and magnificent squares and buildings.
The best known monument of Berlin is doubtless the “Brandenburger Tor”. It has been a symbol for Berlin in all times: before Germany ’s reunification as well as today. The “Neue Regierungsviertel” (new governmental district) is located between the districts of Berlin Mitte and Tiergarten.

Listing description was accurate and clean. neighborhood was safe with lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. Just bring toiletries needed like shampoo and soap.
Good location of the apartment, quiet environment, close to the U-Bahn, which leads to Alexander Platz. In the neighborhood you have the beautiful Simon-Dach Street where you can enjoy the restaurants and bars.
I was looking for quite and clean studio in Friedrichshain and I find it. Thank you, Eitan, you are a great host and everything was perfect!
The place was as described, nice and simple. It was well-heated and safe. It got the job done and was fine to stay in (we stayed for 5 nights). The neighborhood was great, 10 minutes walk from the Frankfurter Tor metro stop. Berlin has great transit so it made getting around really easy. The apartment is close to an awesome area for cafes/restaurants. We asked Eitan for a late checkout and he responded quickly letting us stay later. Thanks Eitan, that was really nice!
The place had bare minimums: no shampoos/soaps, no paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper but the kitchen had plates and utensils. We only had one gripe: paying 5 euro per person as a towel/linen fee where the 2 towels provided were tiny and not an acceptable size for bath towels (for 2 people). Not a dealbreaker but just FYI if you're planning to visit!
Note: to pick up the keys, you had to walk about 15 mins away from the actual apt and get them from the burrito place. If you are lugging around huge bags, it would not be easy. Luckily for us, we just had our carry-ons.
I would recommend to use this place in the future but just know that you may need to bring your own larger towels and buy extra toilet paper/paper towels for your stay!
Alles was man braucht.
Die Beschreibung im Internet stimmt mit der Wohnung überein.
Ein paar Details sind verbesserungswürdig, eben Details.
