***Spend 11 nights in London this summer***
Hi, we are Ben and Sara, we live in a stunning Victorian flat with its own private garden in Dalston, East London. Sara is an architect and recently designed the whole place - we doubled the size of it and refurbished the entire flat.
It's a Victorian flat with a mixture of new and vintage decor. We have a new kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and coffee maker; and a large dining table.
This leads on to the lounge with a study area, flatscreen TV, rooflights and underfloor heating.
Bifold doors open up (entirely) on to a garden that is huge by London standards and fitted with artificial grass. We have petanque and skittles, deckchairs and yoga mats that you're welcome to use during your stay.
The bathroom is (like the rest of the flat) brand new, has a great shower and a huge bathtub.
The bedroom has a double bed with a brand new super comfy double mattress and new bedding. In the lounge there is a separate fold-down wall bed (Murphy bed to the Americans out there). Both beds are doubles and have the same mattress. The wall bed is essentially a proper bed, the only difference being that it's in the lounge and folds up/down. Great for watching films in bed.
So I think it would suit a couple wanting a spacious stay or up to 4 sharers.
This is a real home from home in the city on a quiet Victorian street.
Entire flat, private garden.
Interaction with Guests
Depends if we're away ourselves but we'll always be as helpful as we can be. We've written a full guide to shops, bars, cafes etc in the area.
It is perfectly located for the hipster hubbub of Dalston or the more halcyon heights of Stoke Newington.
Within 5 minutes walk you have a choice of restaurants, pubs, bars, gig venues, artists studios and a park. Checkout the guidebook link for more details.
Easy walk to Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction (10-15 mins) stations (links you to Shoreditch, the City, Canary Wharf in 10-15 mins and the West End in less than half an hour) or five minutes walk to Rectory Road station (trains to Liverpool St. in the City that take just 10 minutes).
Buses from the end of the street go to London Bridge, West End, Waterloo, Holborn, and the City.
Download the 'Citymapper' app in advance or search 'Transport for London' for routes.
Other Things to Note
We are a young couple with lots of knowledge of the local area and will do everything we can to ensure a happy stay - just ask.
Our cleaner Milka comes every time we have new guests and the £30 fee is the price we pay.
If you'd like to treat someone you're travelling with to champagne / flowers / a crate of beer etc just let us know and we can sort it out at cost.
A real home from home - all we ask is that you look after it like you would look after your own place.
And it's probably obvious but no smoking in the flat(fine in the garden).
Some additional info:
Fast internet included.
Feel free to use washing machine, full garden for drying.
Parking can be arranged with advance notice at cost. Anything else just ask!
We had a really nice time in London in architect's flat. It's a beautiful and cozy place, a nice refuge from the busy city. Sara welcomed us with some good tips and fresh flowers. The beds are really good, even for my friend who has serious back problems. The neighbourhood is nice, with a big vintage shop, and the best Turkish restaurants in London. The bus took us quickly to the centre. So I strongly recommend this place!
Once I arrived, I received sweetest welcome from Ben and Sara. Gifts, essentials, detailed instructions and guid of the area...they kindly provide with everything one can need for a lovely stay. Their apartment locates perfectly in vibrant east London. Sara has done an amazing job on renovating it. In short words, it is truly much more than on the photos. Plus skylights and under-floor heating, still can't believe my luck of finding this gem!
Really great - perfect neighbouring flat for family in London for Christmas. Thanks!
Ben and Sara's apartment was pretty much perfect- better than it looks in photos if that's even possible. They are also the sweetest, kindest and most considerate hosts. Could not recommend he apartment more.
We had a lovely stay at Architect's Garden Flat. Ben and Sarah were great hosts (and mum too!). The layout and design was lovely and a very comfortable nights sleep was had. Lovely to meet Mr. Fox and thank you for the welcome bottle of wine!
It's really the best! Even if we have not got to know Ben and Sarah everything is perfectly organised, uncomplicated, well located with friendly neighborhood, easy to get around london, imaginatively furnished... A miracle that they rent this! Also in a group of four there is enough place. Many thanks.
Ben and Sara are the perfect hosts, very helpful and easy to communicate with. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and even better than we expected. Everything was in perfect condition, and the stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. The location is also great! Ben and Sara left a really helpful manual with all the local insight that we very much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again and had a hassle free, lovely stay. Thank you so much!
