Chisel Creek Ranch's rustic timberframe guesthouse is nestled among the flora & fauna at the edge of pristine riparian wetlands in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. Guests are a stone's throw from West Bragg Creek trail system & 10 minutes to the Hamlet of Bragg Creek.The Cabin is heated with a wood stove, has a kitchen area, a queen bed in the loft & 2 twin beds on the main level.The outhouse is behind the cabin along w a seasonal outdoor shower-CLOSED 10/12 WILL Open mid-April, No Pets
The space
The cabin sits on the edge of a small bluff with expansive views over the wetland and Chisel Creek. Please note there is no running water in the cabin or the outhouse. We have provided a vessel for drinking water and for making tea and coffee. There is a microwave for heating up meals as well as a two burner induction cooktop, and a crockpot. There is also a small fridge to keep some essentials for your stay. The hamlet of Bragg Creek is a 10 minute drive away.
The loft has a queen bed and is not suitable for children but there are two twin beds on the main level that are suitable for children. The outhouse is just steps away. We have a seasonal outdoor shower with hot water on demand. Shower is unavailable during the cold months. Shower Closed for the season (October 5, 2024). Usually open mid April.
The cabin has power but NO WIFI so download your movies ahead of time! There are also books available to read and board games to play. There is a cast iron stove for heat and firewood on the deck of the cabin.
The property borders Kananaskis Country and is very close to the West Bragg Creek trail system. Enjoy snowshoeing/hiking or biking to the trail system from the property. Bring your compass when walking in the woods for safety!
Enjoy a canoe paddle in the ponds amongst the birds and beavers! Large and small wildlife can often be viewed from the deck of the cabin. This is glamping at its best with beautiful expansive views in a cozy comfortable cabin!

**We have a friendly dog called Gromit. He is a big poodle. **There is no running water in the cabin or outhouse.

Hello, I am Beth Root Sandvoss! My husband Chris, I and our two children have lived in Bragg Creek for 18 years. About 12 years ago we moved to our current property which we call Chisel Creek Ranch. Chisel Creek Ranch is home to The Canadian Violin Making Institute, (CVMI), our hand made timber frame home (built by father & son) and the beautiful Chisel Creek Ranch Guesthouse. Chris is a master Luthier (violin maker) and I am a professional cellist. We find inspiration for our passions in the beautiful surroundings of West Bragg Creek & Kananaskis. We invite and welcome you to enjoy the same.
