The place is as described, simple, clean and very well located to take the train/bus from & to the airport and also to visit the center by walk - even if the area is not the best one in Rome. The staff has been nice to make the check-in and check-out quick and smooth. Definitely does the job for a short stay in Rome !
First of all let me say this listing is in a ghetto. There is no other word for it, yes there might be 'nice restaurants only 2 blocks away' but that doesn't change that you have to walk past people eating food out of garbage bags, grafitti all over the place and weird people hanging out in front of kebab shops or sleeping rough.
If you want to be in Rome and see the great scenery rome has to offer with its small italian streets and romantic views, then you are in the wrong place. If you want to be in the ghetto. Well done, you are here.
Yes I may concede Mina is nice. Yes I can concede her listing fulfill the contract, barely.
Hosting is not just about barely fulfilling the contract. Let me get into the details:
'In-Room Breakfast'??? This is NOT a bed and Breakfast. What a joke. It's bruised apples and a few stodgy muffins probably bought from the stores in the same street as where this place is located and believe me, best to avoid all the stores.
Internet: yes there was internet at the property, how to access it however, not sure as 1. There weren't any clear instructions 2. Nor when I arrived in the evenings was there anyone to ask.
Air Conditioning: Yes there was an A/C unit. However no means of operating it, since the remote wasn't available. It was 27 degrees, and since there is ALOT of traffic, sleeping with the window open invites all the sounds of the city as well as the pungent sewer smell.
Smells: Not sure if it was the sewers, most times it must have been chinese food wafting around (if you are into chinese food, then you won't mind your room and everything else smelling of it then)
Curtains: Didn't see the point of the curtains, they were such cheap quality, that when lying in bed, i could clearly see people on the other side and they could most probably see me as well then.
Towels: I got 2 white towels, each towel is not even big enough to fit around my waist.
Being honest, this place won't ever see me again, if you are not dodging drunk people outside, sitting and drinking in the street and braiding each others hair (it's actually a hair salon) , you get to a room that is covered by the cheapest linen, unexplainable spatter marks on the walls and a stinky environment.
The pictures are misleading, showing a tv in the rooms, believe me when you get into the room, you feel like that guy who has been cheated out of a million dollars. Even though you didn't even expected it.
I personally feel all these pictures are misleading. It's a shame that my first use of Airbnb is this. Every person now thinks they can 'host', but it is actually hurting Airbnb's credibility to have such listings on here.
