The airport, train station and bus terminals are each only 15 minutes drive away.
Very friendly atmosphere and Paul (host) helped with everything. Breakfast also very nice, therefore hospitality a 9. For us the room was too noisy and the shower could be more powerful, therefore value for money 6.
Thank you for an outstanding experience. The best hosts we have met so far. Go visit Elliebum!! :-)
friendly host, takes a bit of time to travel to night bazaar, but easy to get a tuk tuk to get there within 5 minutes. overall a pleasant experience!
The Elliebum Guesthouse is a fabulous choice for a stay in Chiang Mai. The room is large and comfortable. The breakfast menu offers a lot of excellent choices. The location in the central area offers easy walking access to the many restaurants and sights Chiang Mai has to offer. But the best part is Gade and Paul who are most helpful providing information about things to do and then recommending and booking excursions that will pick you up direct from Elliebum.
Very funky looking place! Paul was gracious and knowledgeable, He helped us organise a trip to Chiang Dao. Lovely breakfast. A good experience all round!
We had lot of fun for sonkran, sharing some crasy water fights with the host and his friends, feeling like being really part of this friendly group and meeting very nice people! This is a place you feel more at home than any hostel.
The place is well located, the host very friendly, speaking English very well and being very informative and helpfull all the time for any question, advices discussions about activities to do or just to speak with someone speaking well English:-)
We enjoyed the place and the host and recommend it.
We had a lovely stay at the Elliebum guest house. After weeks of trekking, the enormous room with its fun elephants decorations, A/C, high ceilings, hot shower, and western toilet were the height of luxury. The only oddity was that our bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, each individually made up and and on rollers, so it was a bit difficult to sleep as a couple without tumbling into a widening crevasse during the night :)
Gade was so sweet and helpful, recommending some excellent restaurants (Duke's--Western & a little place down the street with good Chiang Mai sausage) and helping us with directions and getting us an airport taxi on our last morning.
The location is satisfactory, on a smaller street in the old city around the corner from one of the larger temples. The breakfast is also quite good: they give you a choice of breakfasts (rice porridge and blueberry pancakes were favorites) and the coffee and smoothies were tasty and above par for Thailand. Overall a very positive experience!
It was quite good experience staying at Elliebum Guest House. Good location, clean and the owner and her sister were lovely.
Ellibum guesthouse is just the right place to stay in Chiang Mai. I was there with my two children and we had just arrived in Thailand. We had to get accustomed at the incredible heat and Gade had just the right solution:we went to the swimminpool! It was excactly what we needed. gade had all the right advices and made phonecalls for taxis and everything. She is a super host!!
The room was the cleanest I have seen in Thailand and breakfast the most delicious. I certainly advice anyone who goes to Chiang Mai to stay at Elliebum,
We enjoyed Gade, Mary, and everyone else we interacted with at the Elliebum Cafe & Guesthouse. Gade in particular was a wealth of knowledge on Chiang Mai and other aspects of Thai society.
We look forward to staying at her guesthouse again.
