Recently open again as a vacation rental, since I just moved out of the home after living here off and on for the past 13 years. A beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Historical Island Cottage that sleeps up to 10 people with 2 queen beds, a double full trundle bed (sleeps 4) and a full futon with Serta orthopedic mattress. This house is in the middle of the island and close to everything like; the Strand historical district, the Pleasure Pier, and Moody Gardens. It has corner street parking and it's own 2 car garage and driveway. It is a sister property to the very successful and highly renowned Beach house called the Blue Crab Bungalow. We own and manage both properties so please read our reviews (almost 100) on that website as well!
The entire home is decorated in a tropical island theme and is extremely welcoming! The Master Bedroom has a queen bed, one of the guest rooms has a queen bed and is decorated in a palm theme while the third room has a trundle bed with 2 Full mattresses that will sleep 4+ kids. There is a wooden futon with a very thick and comfortable Serta mattress in the open middle room in the House. Both bathrooms are exceptionally large for Galveston housing and the Master Bathroom has a jetted Jacuzzi tub with double shower heads. You have use of the whole home, large back deck with 4 burner propane BBQ, front porch and the rest of the house. Feel free to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourself.
I'm only about 1 mile from the beach for surfing, tanning, swimming and fun in the sun! Plus I'm 2.5 miles from the historic "down town" Strand area. Also the house is less than 4 miles from multiple harbors and boat ramps if you want to sail on Galveston Bay! Stay at my house to make your Galveston Island vacation affordable. FYI - There is a 6% State Hotel Tax and a 9% City Hotel Tax that every vacation rental in the state of Texas must pay with any booking that is less than 30 days. These taxes are included in the quote.
We have coded door locks so no need for a key and everyone in your group can come and go as they please without dealing with keys!
Please only contact me if you are a normal and courteous person who picks up after themselves. I ask that you will leave everything in the house just as you found it.
Make yourself at home and feel free to use the whole house and yard/patios. I just ask that you leave things as you found them and use common courtesies please. I have sheets and pillows on the beds and towels for you to use after showering as well.
Kitchen - There is always coffee, dry creamer and filters on top of the fridge. You can use the kitchen and utensils for cooking as long as you clean up after yourself and feel free to use my spices, sugar, condiments and any other items like that. I ask that you purchase your other items for cooking though.
Summer AC- I live in a historical home in Galveston and the front 3 rooms of house are over 100 yrs old, and were originally a Train Depot back in the early 1900's. The rest of it was added on over the years to make it a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Due to the age of the home, it is very expensive to keep the house cool in the summer. I just ask that you take that into consideration when choosing what temperature to keep the house at while you are visiting. The fans in all the bedrooms works great on high and will keep it pretty cool!
