Avoid the crowds!

Soda Springs Cabin gives you the feeling of the 'Old Tahoe' without traffic. The beauty and solitude is breathtaking. It all happens here, right out your front door! Royal Gorge cross country skiing right out your front door! Sugarbowl, Northstar, Squaw Valley and Alpine just minutes away. Walking distance to Ice Lakes Lodge Restaurant. No traffic jams, just peace and quiet in a pristine alpine setting.

Unlimited recreational activities, at your fingertips. Skiing, cross-country, sledding, skating, snowshoeing, canoeing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, shopping, swimming, fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, rock climbing, sunbathing, golfing, sailing, white-water rafting, festivals, and mountaineering.

Unbelievable access to an amazing amount of trails for the Royal Gorge Cross Country Skiing and Sugar Bowl Alpine Ski Areas. Minutes to Pacific Crest Trailhead, and centrally located to several major ski areas.

Conveniently located just five minutes off Highway 80. Fun for all generations. Easy access in and out of the cabin for grandma and grandpa (two steps). The Soda Springs Cabin is an A-frame home which has an open floor plan. Sleeps eight to ten people.

Downstairs is the fully-equipped kitchen and spacious living room area, with two bedrooms each has a king-size bed, one bath, laundry area and mud room. Linens provided.

Upstairs are two more bedrooms each has a queen-size bed, one bath, and large open loft which has a queen-size sofa bed and overlooks open space. The loft has fiction books, music, TV, video/dvd player with boardgames/games and videos for all ages.

Whether you want to play or stay in and relax, our cabin has a tremendous amount to offer all families. Peaceful and serene as it sounds. Soda Springs has significant snow fall with year-round access 7000-feet elevation. Our lot is also unusually quiet, with a small stream across the road in front of us, and no houses to the immediate front or left of the building (it is at the street crossroads).

Come, stay, and experience the beauty of our Soda Springs Cabin in the Serene Lakes Area. With a BBQ grill, outdoor picnic table/chairs in the summer, canoe and beach toys, there is plenty to do for your friends and family! No matter how many times you come stay, there is always a place you have never seen before.

We are 1.5 blocks from the water/dock and 3 blocks from the Lodge. 10 mins west from Donner Lake.

We do offer a complimentary turn down service - the cabin will be bright, warm and welcoming upon your arrival! Upgraded DSL (12mbp/s) service from AT&T new fiber optic lines in the area! We have iPhone4 docks and speakers in the cabin.

We try to make sure coffee beans are available (we have a coffee grinder and machine) but we do lose track of inventory sometimes.

WINTER ONLY: Please inquire if you would like Sugar Bowl/Royal Gorge lift tickets ready for you when you arrive, we may be able to acquire them and save you from the lines at the ticket booth.

Please inquire if you would require babysitting services, we do not personally know any of the sitters but we have references from a local babysitting/nanny site that we can refer you to.

Upon reservation, you will get a BIG LIST of instructions in your confirmation email, please read EVERY single line - it protects us and you from additional damages that could incur. It also has tips on how to make your trip more pleasant based on our experiences.

We get a lot of inquiries for ski/summer leases. Please inquire with an offer, an introduction about the people who will be part of the lease and what you plan to do in Tahoe for the winter/summer, bearing in mind that this cabin only looks great because we have a meticulous and loving team that maintains it - she is checked on regularly, cleaned and updated.

House Rules

We have a set of summer rules - bear rules - and winter rules. We hand a handout emailed when you make a reservation. It is common sense stuff so you leave the cabin standing when you leave! ;)

IMPORTANT SUMMER RULES: don't leave the door open for flies and mice! don't leave food out for extended period of times outside - do not attract a bear! worse, do not leave food inside and prop the door open and encourage a bear to tear his way into the cabin! it is by no means a bear-infested area but it will not hurt to take precautionary measures! Do not leave the cabin door open for rodents to enter as well (mice and other wildlife will be searching for food).

IMPORTANT ALL YEAR RULE: DO NOT touch the room baseboard heaters. They are backup emergency heaters and are present as a fail-safe for our winter renters. If you turn them on, you incur the risk of your security deposit being forfeited. They are an extremely inefficient and costly way of heating the cabin and will run our electrical bill into the thousands per month.

We accept dogs pending a pet interview, it is not a place for pet allergic residents!
