We get a lot of inquiries for ski/summer leases. We have a set of summer rules - bear rules - and winter rules. We hand a handout emailed when you make a reservation. It is common sense stuff so you leave the cabin standing when you leave! ;)
IMPORTANT SUMMER RULES: don't leave the door open for flies and mice! don't leave food out for extended period of times outside - do not attract a bear! worse, do not leave food inside and prop the door open and encourage a bear to tear his way into the cabin! it is by no means a bear-infested area but it will not hurt to take precautionary measures! Do not leave the cabin door open for rodents to enter as well (mice and other wildlife will be searching for food).
IMPORTANT ALL YEAR RULE: DO NOT touch the room baseboard heaters. They are backup emergency heaters and are present as a fail-safe for our winter renters. If you turn them on, you incur the risk of your security deposit being forfeited. They are an extremely inefficient and costly way of heating the cabin and will run our electrical bill into the thousands per month.
We accept dogs pending a pet interview, it is not a place for pet allergic residents!
The cabin was very comfortable and fun. We had a family gathering here, with 8 people total. We had plenty of space, and room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was stocked well enough to meet all our cooking (website hidden) was very friendly and quick to respond. Thanks so much for the great experience!
We had a wonderful time at TC'S cabin in Tahoe. We were a group of 10 people celebrating a double birthday and couldn't have asked for a better location. Very cozy, perfect for our group size and a great location. We highly recommend this home for a Tahoe stay!
This is a great cabin--uncluttered and clean. The kitchen was full of all the necessary pots and pans (we cooked A LOT of food) and has a big table that can seat 10. Our three-generation family of 16 rented two homes but all gathered here for dinners. Very cozy and pleasant. Only real drawback was the sofa-bed on which two kids slept in the loft--quite hard and also sagged. But for 8 people the cabin is perfect. Thanks Tc and Alicia!!
This house was perfect for our group of 8: big open common space, large dining table, plenty of room to sleep. The grill was great for a summer meal. The house is also within walking distance to a lovely local lake that has a beach, picnic tables, and volleyball courts.
Tsaiching was very accommodating and responded quickly to inquiries. Highly recommended for a peaceful Tahoe getaway.
We had a party of 8 - 4 couples for a golf weekend. This home was very comfortable. At first I was really worried about only having 2 bathrooms for 8 people, but it worked out just fine. The area is extremely peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The amenities - kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, grill, internet were all in great shape. The beds were excellent - many of us have bad backs so this was important to us! The only tough part was the poor cell phone reception (which obviously isn't the fault of the owners). You can get reception if you walk out to the front driveway. The owners are very responsive to all questions and extremely helpful. This house was a great deal for us and I would highly recommend.
We are two software engineers in the bay area. We bought a cabin because we loved snowboarding!
We love food and cooking at home, we have large family feasts when we go up there. We usually hike, snowboard and curl up.
We have been renting this place for about 7 years now and had the luxury of renting to repeat families that come annually. Families have started moving away and things change so we are opening this cabin up to airbnb this year - to see how it works out.
The cabin is very lovingly maintained by a young couple that live in the area, loved by families who have been coming for many years now, before we had the privilege of owning it. We hope to attract people who will appreciate it as much as we have.
