  • warm welcome, good advice and quiet place !

  • The house was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was convenient to great barrington and Stockbridge (about a 5 minute drive to either).

  • Very welcoming place, hidden away a bit and very quiet.
Rob's quirky and clean house was quite comfortable.
Tub with hose upstairs, shower downstairs off the kitchen.
Unfortuately, Rob was away and we didn't meet, but he couldn't have more gracious and helpful.
It's only a short hop from Tanglewood, and highly recommended for those heading south after a concert.
Thanks, Rob, maybe we'll meet next time!

  • Great to stay in a place that offers the opportunity to recycle and live with a lighter footprint, something that's not easy to do when traveling, so I found this refreshing and a relief!

Rob is a generous host, offering clean and comfortable accommodation in a lovely old house and garden, in a nice part of the world in the Berkshires. Good driving access to everything you need, and in walking distance is a small market and pub with reasonable food around the corner.

  • This place was just perfect for us and we were lucky to have it all to ourselves on an August Saturday night. Very quiet and a quick hop to our chosen activities, Berkshire Botanical Garden and Tanglewood. Rob was away, but his tenant helped us get settled. We enjoyed the shady front porch on Sunday for reading and relaxing. It could get crowded in the upstairs hall and bath if all 3 rooms were occupied, but then we noticed the downstairs bath and shower. It was interesting to see how renovation was progressing on this older home in the village, and we didn't mind seeing work in progress.

  • Very comfortable, clean, pretty, and easy to find. A convenient driving distance from restaurants in other parts of Great Barrington. Our host was exceptionally accomodating. I was able to reserve three rooms in the home for a group (we were travelling to a horse show) without a problem. Also our host was prompt and courteous in regard to answering any questions we had, responding to special requests, and giving directions. A great place to stay.

  • Rob was very welcoming. My room was basic but perfectly adequate. The house was larger than I expected, so even with other guests present it didn't feel crowded. Ideal location if you need a place to stay after attending a Tanglewood event.

  • Didn't have a chance to meet Rob, but his housemate Alex was super kind and helpful with tips on dinner and touring the surrounding town. The house was beautiful, with nice character, but it was a little chilly! Loved the sourdough chocolate bread :)

    October 2013
  • Rob was a fantastic host. The house was beautiful and clean, and his dog Pumpkin was delightful. In the morning, Rob provided fresh sourdough bread and was great company. We highly recommend staying here, and will definitely be back in the future.

Solar Industry
It's not easy being green, but I try real hard! I play builder, and work as a Project Manager in the solar industry. both are a far stretch from my art school and teaching days, but I am totally passionate about my impact on the earth (but not to the point of preaching) . I really enjoy traveling with my partner and son. Love the outdoors, thus living in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. I need trees! I'm quiet, my son and I would say I'm a bit of a geek and happy about it. A vegitarian but not a preachy one, I made my choice others make theirs. I bike, hike and love the water.
