  • I have spent a month in Mike's house and the experience was very good. He is a nice fun guy and he helped me with all my questions and doubts about Rome. He recommended me nice places to visit and restaurants with very good food. I also met some of his friends and relatives and they were very kind to me. The house was very well decorated and very clean. There are restaurats, supermarket and stores near the house and the area is very quiet. The only problem was that Internet didn' work for the first three weeks. Thanks for your hospitality Mike!! Probably I will repeat the experience! Regards!! :)

  • I stayed with Mike for several months, until February 2014, while attending an Italian language school. Mike is a really nice guy, very personable and friendly and always ready to make sure you will have have a good time, whether by inviting you out with him or recommending sites or things to do from a truly local perspective. The room was simply but well equipped, with a very good sized wardrobe. The lighting was a little dark, but I bought a small lamp and left it for future guests :) The neighborhood is nice, with several different, very good grocery stores all within 2-10 minutes walk, as well as a couple of theatres, a park, and lots more amenities. The only problems I found included transport time-- there is an express bus (I took to Piazza Venezia), which is actually really quick, but the transport is so unreliable that sometimes I would wait in morning rush hour for 30 minutes, and at night time, it would usually be even longer. However, there are other buses/a metro, so it would depend where you are commuting to/from and your route. Two other things to know are that the room is right next to the entrance hall of the building (door slams shut instead of closing quietly, and people's voices can be very loud), and the heating pipe running through the room rattled loudly at about 6:15 AM every day. This wouldn't happen in the summer though, and wearing ear plugs worked enough for me so that none of the noise was a problem anymore.
In sum, nice apartment, nice location, nice host. Thanks, Mike!

  • We had a great, month long stay with Mike, he is a generous, uplifting, fun guy and great host, happy to spend time to help and full of information. We had the pleasure of meeting some of his family who were super sweet also. Thanks for the memories and lots of laughs - may the force be with you!.

The apartment was clean and atmosphere relaxed. Great shower, good size room, tons of closet space. The area has everything you would need, mornings are fun, great market - 2 blocks, supermarkets, parks, non-touristic cafe/bars. A cinema at end of street - for Italian speakers. Quiet after 8pm. There were many options for buses and Metro (10-15 mins walk - cheap food options and Basilica S. Paulo) to different parts of the center (20-40 minutes). Appia Antica 4 stops on bus.

  • The house was perfectly clean and well decorated. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a great shower. The bed was rather on the small side for 2 people but still comfortable. We only met Mike the first night as he was on a business trip for the time we spent there. He was very friendly and polite and recommended us a neighborhood restaurant. It's about 15 minutes walking to the nearest metro station and from there another 20 minutes to the city center. We thought we got a great deal as we got the comfort of a flat the for the price of a youth hostel!

  • The flat is very nice and easy enough to get to. The area is relatively quiet and everything one needs is in walking distance. Mike is a nice guy and tries to be helpful. Unfortunately, the stay was overshadowed with several instances of miscommunication that left an uneasy feeling, not the least the use of internet and a rebooking process that became bothersome.

  • I lived two months with Mike in his apartment and I had the best time of my life.

Besides that it was my first with AirBnB, it was also the first time for me that I lived in a new city I didn't know, on my own. So I was a little bit nervous in the beginning! But all my worries were gone immediately when I met Mike. At the second day, he took me to a family barbecue, where I met his cousin. Nowadays, I spend a lot of time with her!

Mike is a lovely, very honest, active, intelligent, hard working, interested and funny person. He showed me different interesting places, told me a lot about Italy and the culture and answers to all my questions. He knows a lot about nice places to visit, good restaurants and beautiful museums. His hospitality is just great! I invited a friend a couple of times, and he was totally fine with it. Someone said it before, and I think I can say the same thing, I left Rome having a new friend!

The apartment is also very nice. It's spacious but code, very clean and modern. The bedroom is perfect, big closet and a nice bed. And the bathroom (your own) is awesome!! I really love the shower! It's also close to a bus stop, so you can go to the city center or termini station very easy.

I can tell hours and hours about my stay here, but the most important thing to know is that I highly highly recommend this place!

The area is green and quiet, the room is very cosy and comfortable. The bathroom is bright and clean. I could use the fridge or the stove any time I needed.

  • Mike's apartment was new, nice and cozy. It had the kind of modern feel that I liked and had all i needed for my stay. The location was quite nice,in a residential neighbourhood and had some parks nearby where I could jog which was great , the supermarkets, pharmacy and stores were all within a walking distance and the bus top to the city center is just a five minutes walk.Mike is really extroverted and has a very warm personality and took me out to meet his friends a few times. He also helped me find a good photoshop teacher in Rome when I needed lessons. Thanks Mike I really appreciate your having me in your house and your hospitality. I give you my highest recommendation.

  • Our experience with Mike was the best we could have hoped for; it was perfect. Mike is generous, friendly, gracious, honest, and very hospitable and easy to live with. The apartment was clean upon arrival, and stayed very clean the entire time of our visit. Mike was a great source of recommendations for everything Roma: public transit, restaurants, sights, and events, and even potential itineraries for trips outside of Rome.

All facets of the accommodation were wonderful, including the private bathroom, large amount of closet space, comfortable common areas, and a clean, well equipped kitchen.

My wife and I recommend Mike and his beautiful apartment to anyone and everyone. It was the perfect living situation. If we return to Rome, we would stay with Mike again.
