The Space

The famous Albert Cuyp Studio is back as your residence starting June 2013!

This is THE place for all of you that like to stay right there where the real action is! The Albert Cuyp market, in the middle of "The Pipe" the area with a great buzz, full of bars, restaurants, nice shops, action! This place is on the corner of a very nice spot. Dead central. And yet also a place where you can easily find tranquility.

This studio is located at one of the nicest spots for people to explore the urban life in Amsterdam!

It's located in the center of the very attractive area "De Pijp" right next to the colourful Albert Cuyp market, a wide variety of authentic boutique shops of any kinds, restaurants of all cultures, the Heineken Experience right next door, at walking distance to the center-center ans well do we need to say more?

The studio offers all you need as a couple (or single traveller) for your city trip! A convenient double bed, a walk in bathroom with a shower, a small nice cuisine with a blender, coffee machine, a gas stove (email hidden). Further a dining table for four and two relaxing fauteuills.

The excitements of this studio are the smallest toilet of Amsterdam and the steep staircase (that looks and actually is a bit, the landlord has plans for some years already.. :-)). Something to experience!

The studio is located at the corner of a cross road and is nice and light due to it's five big size windows. Sitting inside you feel connected to the outside, as for example the sitting in the open window makes the best breakfast spot you could think off.

All that could think off (in Amsterdam) can be found in the direct surrounding of this studio. So we would highly recommend this to you!

One note - The studio is located in a quite lively area. That means that you'll have some noise from the streets, from people, from the trespassers, etc. So only if you need absolute silence when sleeping this studio might not be your first choice.

We - Hill and Eric - are looking forward to host you and help you with all your travelling plans, ideas. We know the city and we know lot's and lot's of (super!) people. So we're happy to help you connect and make your stay a real local one!

Looking forward hosting you!

PS Although we have indicated fixed check in and check out times, please contact us to discuss your preferences. OUr default modus is to be flexible with this. However since we also need some time to be able to clean the apartment in between guests we need some time for that...

  • We loved staying in this studio. The location was unbeatable, literally right over the Albert Cuyp market which was awesome. We went and bought all of our food and snacks there every day, so fresh! We rented bikes right around the corner and biked to everywhere we wanted to go. The tram stop was right around the corner as well, which we used when we didn't have the bikes. The stairs aren't as scary as all the other reviews say, they were an adventure (and we had worse stairs in other flats on our trip). We couldn't figure out the WiFi on the first day and Eric responded to my inquiry immediately and even stopped by to make sure everything was ok. I highly recommend staying here when in Amsterdam, we couldn't have had a better time!

  • This is a lovely apartment in a great area of amsterdam. Ideal for us (a couple visiting the city for 4 days) - it had everything we needed and communication with Eric was easy. Thank you.

  • The location of the studio is amazing. I used to live in Amsterdam and this area is a part I never actually explored before so I really enjoyed that. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We expected the steep staircase, but initially it was difficult with our luggage but by the end we were pros! I liked the little note Eric left us, nice personal touch. Bike rental is located near by so easy to get around. The bike man, who is from Greece, is hilarious!

I would say that Eric is right in saying it (email hidden)ly part of the city. You can hear everything from the street all night and as a very light sleep I did not sleep for 4 days but my friend slept through everything so it depends on what you're like personally. The one thing that did irritate me was that there was always someone hammering at 7am above us and it tended to stop at around 11am.. It nearly drove me mad as I maybe finally got round to dozing at that time!

Overall I wish I could have stayed longer, we had a lovely time in Amsterdam.

  • Eric is a very friendly person and a great host! The place itself is fantastic as well. The location is perfect - it's a short walk from the main places of the city: museums, Vondelpark, and of course the canals, but at the same time it is away from the noisy tourist crowd. In the direct vicinity of the apartment there is a market with fresh fruit, bakery, and cheese, a few bars and cafes (the best branches are in Little Colins), and a bike rental shop. Highly recommended!

  • First, excellent excellent location!
Just above a pub, in front of a pizzeria, ice cream place, near the market and 5 minutes walk from the supermarket.
On the other hand, since it's above the pub, it's a bit noisy, so ups and downs..
Cute apartment, lots of light, everything you need, though small toilet room and no ventilation....
Anyway, we had a great time in and out the apartment. We are sure to come back someday!!

Oh, by the way, Eric is the best host to ask for. Very helpful and kind. Thank you so much

Thanks Tali, for the nice words. And indeed the toilet is famous for it's size :-) The houses of the Pijp are typical for their practical and floor efficient solutions :-)

  • El apartamento es bastante correcto, una cama una ducha y poco más. El apartamento está como a 5 paradas de tranvía (n' 16 o n'24) cerca tienes bares, un supermercado y un mercadillo local donde venden de todo. En general todo bien.

  • Me and my mum, we had a lovely stay in Amsterdam and in this studio. Apartment was cosy and equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Eric was very welcoming and we were happy to meet him. The surroundings are perfect too, Albert Cuyp market just around the corner and short walk (about 15 minutes) to the Rijksmuseum and historical centre. Thank you :-)

  • Very cozy apartment and nice hosts. The location is great! Right around the corner is market and cafes, where you can get different kinds of cheese, pancakes and other delicious stuff for breakfast. It's quiet, great place if you love to explore city walking. Strongly recommend. Cheers
