Cozy mountain A-frame in the heart of Rhododendron. This cabin is four unique levels with two open-concept lofted bedroom areas perfect for solo travelers, couples, or even a family. Cabin is full of amenities like games, Smart TV, wood fireplace, private hot tub, backyard with fire pit (when not in wildfire season), fast WiFi (capable of streaming/Zooming), all located walking distance to the Zig Zag River, Skyway BBQ, and countless mountain trails. Just 15 mins drive from the ski slopes.

The space
This listing is for a newly renovated A-frame cabin located in the heart of Rhododendron, near hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, and skiing. It's warm and cozy and has everything you need to feel comfortable during your trip to Mount Hood -- your own private laundry, a wood burning stove, a flat screen TV with all the streaming options, high speed WiFi fast enough for Zooming, a private hot tub on the back deck, which is brand new as of August 2021.

It's 3 levels with one bedroom area on the 2nd level and one bedroom area on the 3rd level. Note that in order to access the bedroom areas, you'll need to use a spiral staircase. The spiral staircase is sometimes difficult for young children and dogs to navigate so we ask that you familiarize yourselves with the listing photos before booking to make sure it is something that will work well for you and your guests.

We are dog-friendly but no other animals are allowed. No cats due to severe owner allergies -- sorry, no exceptions.

Please note that both bedrooms are lofted "open concept" bedrooms. This means that neither has a 4th wall or a door. Instead, they are partitioned by vertical wood screens and thick velvet curtains. We find that there is ample "visual" privacy with these screens/curtains but it does mean that there won't be "sound" privacy, and you'll be able to hear guests on the main level, for instance, while in your bedroom area.

Where you’ll be

Rhododendron, Oregon, United States

Our neighborhood is a residential neighborhood made up of full time residents, part time residents, and short term rentals. The neighborhood weaves along the Zig Zag River so that although we're not located right on the river, it's only a short 5-10 minute walk from our cabin to a nice "hangout" spot. We're also walking distance from Skyway for BBQ and live music on the weekends.

Also worth noting in advance: Like many cabins on the mountain, ours is located near to Highway 26. This means you'll hear some highway noise. We find most guests are not bothered by this background noise, and we do provide sound machines in the bedrooms to help mitigate it, but if you're particularly noise sensitive or looking for total silence, we recommend finding other accommodations.

As your hosts, we hope to offer you a warm welcome (even if only virtually in this time of Covid!), a clean and cozy space, and to help you make memories in our little cabin on Mount Hood.

During your stay

I'm typically not available in person but have on-mountain contacts who can help you in the event an issue arises. I prefer to communicate via AirBnB message as opposed to text/call. Please note that if you call/message during traditional sleeping hours (say, 9pm-6am) that I may not answer the phone. Please plan accordingly and let Brooke know in advance if you plan to check in past 9pm.
