Pueblo is AWESOME!

We find this neighborhood delightful. Within a block there is a wonderful coffee shop called Gypsy Javas (ask for their Aztec Cookie - chocolate with a hint of spice); The Pantry - a local favorite breakfast place; Schuster's Bakery for cookies and cakes; The Broadway Grill - double decker BLTs; and coming soon, The Colorado Brewery.

A little further out (within walking distance during the day): access to the Arkansas River Trail for a nice walk, run, or bike ride; the Union Street Historic District is full of antique shops, art galleries, museums, and wonderful restaurants and bars; and the Riverwalk has more restaurants, bars, a brewery, and of course a nice walking area. The nearby Walther Brewery (no food last time we were there) makes an awesome Green Chile beer you must taste. Downtown, a bit too far to walk but still nearby, there is The Shamrock Brewery with an on site brewery and Grays Coors Tavern that won second place for Green Chili Sloppers on the FoodNetWork! Pueblo Chili's - the things they make with them.

Ready for another walk? There are many historic mansions in the neighborhood. Pitkin Street - about 2 blocks from the apartment has many. For a full list of historic buildings in Pueblo go see the Wikipedia site for historic places in Pueblo for a great description. Do please note that this is a near downtown gentrifying neighborhood - there are some 'characters' around.

See, Pueblo is AWESOME - go explore and tell your friends. No, wait, lets keep it our secret.
