Waverly is a quiet and green section of Baltimore that's close to Hopkins Homewood campus (the school, not the hospital), Union Memorial Hospital, Morgan State, and Loyola/Notre Dame campuses. Also walking distance are a supermarket, a Saturday farmer's market, and a YMCA.
The house is pretty spacious for a rowhouse, with a sunroom, a big living room, and a back porch and yard for hanging out in. You're welcome to smoke outside. The room for rent is the master bedroom, with comfortable but no-frills furnishings: a double-bed, a desk, and a chest of drawers for your things. There's a ceiling fan and a window a/c unit for when it gets hot, which it does here in the summer, particularly upstairs.
We'd share the kitchen and bathroom, and other common areas.
I have a very sweet cat who is not used to other animals, so no pets (sorry), and be forewarned if you suffer from cat allergies.
There are several bus lines nearby (36, 8, 3, 22), but it's probably easiest to get around from here with a car or a bike. There's always plenty of street parking available, and you can store your bike in the house for security.
I'm connected to some of the music/art/lit scenes in the city, so I'm used to hosting artists passing through for shows and festivals. I'm also close to Union Memorial hospital as I said so residents and patients' families would find it very convenient.
mature types only please! clean up after yourself and no drugs allowed. (I have yet to have any guests that weren't totally respectful, but just in case, this is no party palace.)
I was at Megan's home for four days and was running around Baltimore most of the time or in her guest bedroom (very comfy) working away. But from the interactions I did get a chance to have, Megan was really chill and friendly. She was also helpful if I had any questions about the area. Sugar, her cat, was also a super sweety!
As far as the surrounding area goes, it was very accommodating because a lot of bus routs are close to Megan's home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you find yourself in Baltimore.
First experience with airbnb and I couldn't be happier. Megan was very friendly, and her home was perfect for my stay in the area. Plenty of parking on the street and enough space in the room for all of my things was great as well. Highly recommend staying with her if looking for a place in Baltimore!
Our stay at Megan's was very short (one night), but pleasant, convenient, and comfortable. Megan was helpful over email and very nicely accommodated a late check-in. The bedroom space is clean and spare, exactly what we hoped for. Megan's backyard garden adds a lovely touch. The drive to downtown took about 25 or 30 minutes with traffic.
Megan's place is comfortable and safe. Megan is a considerate, communicative, and friendly host. We will stay with her again given another chance.
My first trip to Baltimore became very comfortable thanks to Megan and her beautiful house. As soon as I arrived at the front of the house, I was greeted by the adorable smiling yellow flowers. Then, her very sweet cat, Sugar, welcomed me. Megan’s house is very warm and inviting – it is decorated with unique and probably memorable objects as well as with the house plants which have been able to grow just like the way they want thanks to the great caretaker. Every little thing I found in the house seems to show Megan’s caring and peaceful personality. She has been so nice, understanding, and helpful since the first day when I started planning my trip. I enjoyed very much to be out in her adorable backyard and chat with her in the morning. This is such a special experience that I would have never been able to have in a hotel. Thank you so much, Megan!
Quiet neighborhood a short drive from downtown, but with lots of street parking. Probably a better choice for guests who have a car, though I did see a bus stop right across the street.
I had A/C, use of the kitchen, wifi, and there is a friendly cat that lives there.
I enjoyed my stay very much,
We stayed at Megan's place while we had a booth at Artspace. Great place, was great to come back to after a long day to a nice relaxing home!
