EXCELLENT, A++! Great Value and Great Stay in Montreal.
If you are planning to go to Montreal and have a group of 4 people, this place is IDEAL.
First off, we made the reservation months ahead and Richard had no problem with that. The details of our trip changed in the months in between but Richard was always prompt to offer an answer to our questions and to accomodate to our needs. Checking in and checking out went without any problems; communication was spotless - basically the best qualities of AirBnB were perfectly displayed.
Now about the place itself: Best of the Best. The house was much bigger than it seemed from the pictures. Perfectly situated, just steps from subway and one of the coolest places in Montreal: Jean Talon market. The house was very tastefully decorated (you would love it if you like rustic wood finishes and vintage furniture) and very clean. We were never more than 20 minutes from the downtown and everything else. Will definitely recommend, would definitely come back.
Overall, a smooth and agreeable experience. Richard and Patricia were very accommodating about an early arrival and departure. The neighborhood is the best and their house is "funky," perfect for young couple I was putting up there. The few (little) quirks about an old house (tricky doors and a couple of "unidentified sounds" in the night) added, in fact, to its charm. My niece and her husband can't wait to come back!
Richard was the perfect host.
1. His place is located 1minute walking from Jean Talon market. Fresh fruit and butchers from local areas are selling and helping you put together a meal.
2. His actual house was terrific. The deck in the backyard gets a ton of sun and has a great functioning BBQ.
3. The beds were clean and fresh along with the towels. The shower had fantastic pressure and was clean when we arrived.
4. There is a dishwasher and alot of plates and cutlery etc. all clean.
5. Large spice cupboard
6. TV area for watching hockey was available with full cable and a 42" television. (NHL playoffs).
7. The second floor bedroom has a great walkout patio.
Overall the distance to downtown montreal is a $20cab ride and takes no time. He is very close to little italy.
I would recommend staying at Richards place in the future. The house is an old victorian style model and has many old world features to make your stay very comfortable. More than enough room for six people should it be needed. There is also free parking on the street (Friday to monday no ticket).
Thank you Richard.
Richard's house was the perfect accommodation for my visiting friend's. It's a very nice house, in a great neighbourhood, and I would definitely recommend it to others traveling to Montreal.
A spacious and practical house in a relaxed neighbourhood - We loved this place and would stay here again!
Had everything we needed - space for a family of 4 including 2 teens (which means TV and wifi a necessity), close to markets, restaurants and Metro. Will stay again if opportunity arises!
We had a lovely time in Montreal and enjoyed our stay in Richard's place. He was very responsive and reliable in his communications with us. The nearby Jean Talon market was so convenient and wonderful and we enjoyed LIttle Italy in general. Milano Market was popular for us also and we got fresh past and other goodies to prepare in the apartment. Our son lives very close to this apartment, so it made it so perfect to be able to cook and share good times with him and our friends.
I recommend it for a group of people.
