Fully furnished, 2 bedroom, 1200 sq foot apartment with all amenities needed for travel or temporary housing. The space is frequently rented by student interns, professional and medical interns, visiting professors and freelancers working in the area. Weekly and monthly discount. Located just north of Providence and 45 minutes south of Boston.

The space

Renovated, 2 bedroom, second floor apartment. Previous full time rental, converted into a private guest / teaching space. I live and work on the first floor and occasionally teach workshops upstairs when not renting the space out to guests. The apartment uses the back entrance and is separate from the first floor. Both entrance and parking to the apartment space is actually on Suffolk Ave. which is located at the back of the house.

Primary guest room accommodates two. (Closet and dresser space is available) Large shower/bath. ( I provide towels ) Private use of galley kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need; pantry basics, dishes - pots and pans, microwave, blender etc. Coffee / tea, breakfast foods and snacks available. Wireless internet, basic TV (Major networks and local channels) and DVD player.

The second bedroom is set up as an office space with a computer table and a futon couch that can be converted into a bed to sleep additional guests

There is a futon chair in the living room that converts into a single bed. An additional air mattress can be set up in the living room space for family's or large groups.

I do request at least a two day booking when setting up for a large group in separate beds as prep time, break down, clean up and overhead increases greatly. I have found this to be too much extra work for just a one day stay. The fee for extra people covers my time and extra overhead. When booking, please let me know if you are couples staying two in a bed or if you need a bed set up for each individual. I may be able to offer you a discounted rate for couples staying more then 2 nights as the set up is easier.

Kids are welcome as long as they are quiet (I work down stairs with clients who come to relax!) The extra $30 per person fee does apply to children as well as adults. I have let children stay for free in the past and have found that childproofing and clean up after kids have visited takes a lot more effort and time. I am always willing to discuss certain situations and negotiate fees appropriately.

Read or relax in the fenced in private patio with gardens in summer. Fully equipped yoga space if you wish to practice. There is also a TV and a movable bean bag couch in the living room.

I have pets but they are not allowed in the second floor space so it is allergen free. Sorry, no guest pets allowed. Absolutely no smoking as well.

I would appreciate it if you don't move furniture around or if you do please put everything back as you found it. Monthly/long term fee is negotiable depending on the circumstance.

I may also be available to share yoga practice or book a shiatsu, massage or bodywork / coaching session in my first floor office.

The space is available for teaching workshops as well as housing workshop guests.

I am located 1 mile off of route 95, 10 minutes north of Providence, RI. It is a 45 minute drive east to Newport, RI and less then an hour drive, or train ride, north to Boston, Ma.

It is 1 mile down the street to the South Attleboro train station and I am also on the local bus line. (Check RIPTA for schedule)

The town park (Slater Park) is less then 1 mile away with walking and bike trail, paddle boats and carousel for kids. Also close to pubs, restaurants and grocery. RI visitor center is located in down town Pawtucket, 3 miles away. Check out the guidebook for other local attractions.

Guest access

The access to the second floor is in the back of the house located on Suffolk Ave. The apartment is totally private during your stay.

Interaction with guests

I interact as wanted and needed. Every situation is different and I want each guest to get the most out of their stay. Most days I am downstairs in my living space or working with clients in my home based office.

House Rules

No smoking on the property. Please let me know if you are going to have extra guests visiting during your stay. Try to keep food and drinks in the kitchen/dining area to avoid spills and stains on the rug in living room/yoga area. If the heat is on or the air conditioning is running, please keep the windows closed for energy efficiency and to save on resources. I request that the heat be kept at 70 degrees or lower. The space is newly insulated with new windows and stays nice and warm.

Killed around 40-50 yellow jackets the last week there. All were in the bedrooms. My girlfriend was actually stung on the foot after accidentally stepping on a yellow jacket. We also found mouse droppings in the kitchen the day we moved in and we inevitably saw the mouse a couple weeks later. Ended up having to live with a mouse defecating on our stove tops for much of the summer and the help that she offered was pepper mint spray and 3 mouse traps (one of which was broken). The mouse was never caught.

Response from Nancy:
This was definitely an unfortunate situation but I responded immediately when I found out about both the mouse and yellow jackets. I had someone out to plug up any holes both inside and outside the house were mice might be coming in. Traps and poison pellets set in basement. I live in the house and do not want mice especially since they multiply if not gotten rid of. I gave the guests traps and did not hear any more complaints until the end of their stay. I saw no signs of mice so I thought the issue had been remedied. I would have rather it been communicated immediately if there still was an issue. When I was notified about the yellow jackets I had the nest removed the next day. It was located in a space below the eve of the house. The area was sprayed and the cavity were they were nesting was filled with expanding foam so they could not rebuild. We went into the apartment to see how they might have gotten in and if anything needed to be done to exterminate. There were no visible signs of any inside at that time. The space was very messy with clothes everywhere on the floors and there was a lot of food around and it was suggested that things be picked up before using spray, which leaves toxic residue. I didn't want to touch or move anything due to respecting privacy. I also noticed that there was a lot of dirty dishes and food left around, which could be attracting the mice, which had just been brought up to me. I heard nothing over the next couple of days so again I thought all was well. Evidently the yellow jackets that did not get exterminated started to look for the nest by climbing into the walls and unfortunately the issue got worse as more entered the house. I have since had holes drilled in the siding of the house and sprayed as well as had caulking done in all the cracks around the trim so hopefully this will never happen again. The house has also been re-checked and treated for mice. I pride myself in taking care of my house and being a good host and unfortunately this was the first time a guest has been dissatisfied. I feel bad that there was an issue but I did do all within my control to take care of things. I have been hosting for over 5 years with many happy guests. I have been a 5 star super host and will continue to work towards being the best host possible and to provide my guests with the best experience possible. . Please read other reviews to get an accurate idea of my space and hospitality. Thanks.

I stayed here for a month immediately after driving cross country for a new job. As such, during my stay I was preparing to start work, find a new apartment, and prepare to move in. Nancy was very kind and easy to make arrangements with. The place was clean, spacious, quiet, and well provisioned. Parking is on the street but I almost never had to park more than one house down the street.

Nancy was very welcoming, as was the apartment and exterior of the house and garden. Color, light, and healing vibes permeate the space. I had a long-term stay of some months and was very comfortable there. Nancy was responsive to any small details needed. The peaceful neighborhood, a mix of businesses and homes, includes a lot of walkers. This is a great place to stay whether for one night, a weekend, or longer. We spent Christmastime there and enjoyed it very much.
