Sunny downtown studio on the top floor of a turn of the century brick building. One block west of the Art Museum and South Park Blocks, literally around the corner from an awesome new Safeway, five blocks from PSU and the Farmers Market.
Southern facing apartment has a new queen size murphy bed, small entry foyer, walk-through closet, eat-in kitchen, shower, tub, desk with older iMac computer, wireless internet, elevator, and laundry facilities in basement.
The city streetcar (the NS line) stops in front of the building (SW 11th and Jefferson) and connects the Downtown/Pearl/PSU/Nob Hill/South Waterfront districts. There is now a second streetcar service (the CL line) that shares this stop and connects downtown with the close-in east side, including the Lloyd Center, Convention Center, Rose Quarter and OMSI. Visit (website hidden) to learn more.
The southbound streetcars stop in front of the building, and the northbound streetcars stop is one block east, beside the Art Museum. Street parking is metered from 8am to 7pm, Mon-Sat, and 1pm-7pm on Sundays. If you go a few blocks west and cross I-405 you can often find unmetered street parking.
Apartment stays powerfully warm and cozy in the winter thanks to endless hot water and an intense, fully adjustable gas heater.
Please enjoy your stay and feel free to use anything in the bathroom or kitchen (what little there is). Call me anytime with issues or concerns.

Really really great place, close to everything you would want to see in Portland. The room was spacious, bed was very big and comfortable. Forrest was helpful and clear with his instructions for checking in/out and how to work things in the room. Quiet neighborhood, lots of great shops and food trucks nearby. Also a grocery store (open late!) right around the corner. Would absolutely stay at Forrest's place again!
Great downtown location right on the streetcar line. Easy to find and the perfect size for two. City guides and magazines out for us so we could locate the best of Portland. Really unique old building and decor. Clean space and roomy. Definitely not the feeling of a cramped and tiny hotel room! Would definitely stay again.
This place was absolutely glorious! Perfect location, wonderful apartment, and Forrest was just lovely to deal with. Our arrival times were pretty up in the air, but he just sorted it out so we could rock up whenever we wanted, so convenient! Speaking of convenient, the Safeway is literally a stone's throw away, and the streetcar line goes straight past the front door- doesn't get any better than that!
The bathroom was great, such a well-stocked little kitchen and all the creature comforts in place. I was worried about the cold, but the heater in the apartment works like a charm! Also, the bed was very very comfy. It's all so bright and cheerful and modern and stylish, so so pleased we picked this one to visit!
Only downside at all is that the elevator is a little bit scary (quite small and jerks pretty hard when it stops) and the alternative is rather a lot of stairs, but that definitely isn't enough to drag down the rating! Just something handy to know about I think if you don't like stairs or lifts. Also, all the power points in the apartment are 2-prong only, so if you have 3-prong stuff you may want to grab an adapter from a hardware store on your way in.
Forrest was great, left excellent instructions on where and how to get the keys and how to navigate the apartment. The apartment is adorable and cozy, with a full kitchen and claw foot tub in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and I had plenty of warm blankets. Overall, a great stay and an amazing deal for the amenities and location. The street car stops right in front of the building!
The Place ist just perfect! Walkingdistance to all the nice places in downtown, really cosy and with everything you need! We really enjojed our stay and Forrest made it so easy to check-in and helped with questions during our stay in no time!
Highly recommended, I would stay there again!!!
Forrest's place is a cozy, quirky apartment that's near to just about everything in downtown Portland. We had a very pleasant stay and had no difficulties with the room or the building.
We had a really great time in Portland and loved staying at Forrest's place! The apartment is very central, you have everything in a walking distance! The apartment is also very clean and Forrest was easy to communicate with and everything was planed out perfectly! It has been our very best airbnb experience so far!!
For being my first time using airbnb I scored with finding this place. Forrest's studio is located in a prime location- walkable distance to most places in the city. And If walking isn't your thing catching the max or streetcar are just foot steps away. The studio apartment has the amenities you need when traveling; comfy bed, kitchen, and shower. Also- if you're traveling alone like I was the complex and the neighborhood are very safe. I rarely communicated with Forrest but when I did for two occasions he was fast to reply. My retreat to Portland was an amazing experience. I recommend his place for anyone visiting town. Thanks Forrest!
Forrest's apartment was just as described! It wS clean, comfortable, warm and had all the basics and more. My husband and I were very happy staying here and being able to walk everywhere was so convenient. We didn't even need to contact Forrest as his instructions were very clear.
Forrest's place made a great home base. Right downtown and close to everything. No need for a car if you are staying here. Checking in and out was very easy. His studio apartment had a comfortable murphy bed and a blast from the past feel. Older buildings can do that. Gotta take the elevator ride!
