Enjoy a memorable stay at one of our off-grid wall tents among the vast mountains and home to Wildthingz Dog Mushing, Iditarod and Yukon Quest Sled Dog team. Getaway from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area of Denali National Park while being within close driving distance to all of the local attractions. This is a unique, off the beaten path stay!

The space
the tent is a 10x12 foot canvas tent, built on a wooden frame and deck to protect you from the alpine elements. This cozy space is best for couples but we can add a twin sized mattress for a 3rd.
There is a cozy Queen bed, kitchen area with all cooking and dining essentials provided.
The property is off-grid so there is NO RUNNING WATER! there is an outhouse for a bathroom.
We provide hand sanitizer, baby wipes, washing water and soap.
There is minimal electricity - we are off grid, but we have a small solar setup that allows charging of small appliances like phones and laptops.

This is an ecoconscious lodging experience so be prepared to get away from normal life and be mindful of water consumption and electricity use.

we provide all linens and extra blankets for colder months. be sure to pack warm clothes - May and September can be below freezing at night!
There is a propane heater to stay nice and warm inside.

There is no shower, but we provide towels, water and soap to wash up.
You can take a hot shower and do laundry at the Vitus Gas station or the Cantwell RV park down the road.

PLEASE do not wander around the upper property - our 35 sled dogs live here with us. If you would like to visit them you MUST ask ahead of time. We offer summer tours until early September, please join us for a 20% off the normal tour rate!

There are 2 other rentals on the property so you likely will see other guests. We live on site and can be around as much it little as you'd like.

Cantwell, Alaska, United States

We are the home of Wildthingz Dog Mushing and are located in the cute little village of Cantwell. It is 30 minutes south of the Denali National Park entrance and several tourist attractions.
In Cantwell there are a couple food options - The Longhorn Saloon, JamJams and a BBQ food truck.
the Vitus gas station has food essentials, laundry and showers.

15 minutes north are several other dining options including Creekside Cafe, Panorama Pizza, The Perch and 229.
Closer to the park there are more dining options.
The Nearest grocery store is 45 mins north in Healy. We reccomend food shopping in Fairbanks or Anchorage before you come here.

We are close to the highway but still somewhat remote. you must have a vehicle to get here.

Originally from Maine, I moved to Alaska in 2015 with my husband. We have a sled dog team called Wildthingz Dog Mushing, comprised of 30+ Alaskan Huskies. We train and race them in the Iditarod and Yukon Quest, run a small tour business in summer months and homestead in the Alaskan wilderness. I am also a photographer, jewelry maker and painter.
