This wonderful villa is up in the mountain at the foot of a nature reserve. It is big and spacious. Enjoy taking the sun, getting refreshed in the pool, eating barbecue, relaxing by the garden, terrace or balcony with a cool drink or a glass of wine.
The beautiful villa, with fascinating views, is at a 20 min walk from the centre of Mijas Pueblo, a quaint typical spanish town with cobbled streets and known for its stunning views and donkey rides. Mijas has thousands of Tourists visiting it every year from Japan, Europe and other countries. It has many good small tourist shops selling a variety of products like soap made out of olive oil, leather jackets and bags, they also sell a lot of tourist merchandise and souvenirs.
From Mijas it is a 20 min bus ride to Fuengirola beach town where you will also find beautiful beaches, a busy night life and the larger supermarkets (the closest bus stop from Mijas to Fuengirola, from the house, is at a 15 minute walk). If you have a car the whole Costa del Sol is within easy reach but there are also buses at the doorstep to the house that will take you to the centre of Mijas Pueblo (if you do not want to walk along the beautiful scenery for 20 min), Torremolinos and Malaga (the city where you will find a lot of history and places of interest such as the Picasso museum, old castle and cathedrals). The bus will also connect you to the Costa Del Sol train network which goes along the coastal towns from Fuengirola through through to Malaga. From Fuengirola you can also get buses to beautiful towns such as Ronda, Marbella etc
There is a small supermarket within a 4 minute walk from the house and a bigger supermaket in the centre of Mijas town.
The villa is quite old and has a bit of a rustic feel. Apart from myself, it is very likely that there will be more people coming and going from the house a bit like a hostel. It is very probable that there is a dog and maybe even more than one dog in the premises. There is a private swimming pool in the summer months on top of the communal pool that is open until the beginning of September. Free wifi access.
The building is quite cold in winter due to its size, marble floors and location up the mountain (small radiators in bedrooms and log fire in the sitting room to help get a bit of warmth in the colder winter months).
The two main rooms in this advert have big balconies overlooking the garden, mountains and sea. In the morning you can watch the sunrise from your bedroom and if you like more privacy you can enjoy the evening meal or morning breakfast peacefully taking in the surroundings and talking on your private balcony table and chairs.
The villa has very peaceful and spacious living area, with a large communal swimming pool at a one minute walk from the house which has a nice ¨chiringuito¨ style restaurant (free on weekdays and about 3 euros on weekends). Wonderful nature walks and hikes very close by on the impressive mountains of Mijas. There are different activities in the area, apart from the usual tourist attractions, like hiking, climbing, downhill biking, scenic routes, water sports etc or you could join me in doing some painting and drawing in the studio in the house! The villa boasts log fire, a hectare of private grounds, plenty of parking, breathtaking views and an amicable host willing to share with you his knowledge of the area, Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco. Southern Spain (Andalusia) probably has more days of sunshine, a year, than any other country in Europe.
Come and enjoy!
Guests have access to all the grounds including the swimming pool, garden, kitchen, sitting room, studio, terrace, barbecue, chill out space, sun beds. Guests will not have access to occupied private bedrooms where other guests are staying.
I like people and I tend to interact with guests depending on how much they like to interact with me. I like to think that I know when people want to be alone and leave them alone.
The villa looks over a small neighbourhood like a castle on a hill. There is a small supermarket there that you can walk to in 5 min and also a small restaurant 3 min away from the house. There is also a small park for kids.
Mijas Pueblo is a great little classic Spanish town. It has amazing views and cobbled streets, parks, gardens, white houses, old chapels, friendly people, a big parking for 1€ a day, donkey rides.
You can get around on buses, walking, on private car etc. The house is at a 15-20 min walk from the town of Mijas and it is a bit hilly. I walk and go on bicycle quite a lot to the town of Mijas Pueblo. I usually go on bus to work in Fuengirola (the beach town) and it takes 15 min to walk to the nearest bus stop that goes to Fuengirola. There are also buses that stop just outside the house if you don't want to walk. The buses that stop just outside the house go to the centre of Mijas Pueblo and all the towns in between Mijas and the city of Malaga which include Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Malaga. There is a coastal train that goes in between Malaga and Fuengirola, there are some train stops that are beside bus stops where you can get buses back up to Mijas Pueblo where the house is. You just have to be aware of bus and train times but on average they leave every 20-25 min depending on the time of the day or night.
From Fuengirola you can also get buses to Marbella, Ronda, Granada, La linea (walking distance to Gibralatar) and all the other beautiful towns and cities in the area. You can also get a bus to Algeciras where you can take a ferry to Morocco.
The place is ideal for people that love nature, walking in the nature, relaxing, sharing, enjoying...
I chose Andrew's place because of it's good reviews by previous guests and I was not disappointed.
He communicated very clearly with lots of detail before the time, which was great.
My room was clean and tidy and had impressive views. Can't get much more beautiful than lying in bed and being able to watch the sunrise over the Mediterranean.
Andrew was very welcoming and I would definitely recommend his place.
Me and my partner stayed at Andrew's place for two nights. Very big room and interesting place. Andrew is a good host and ensure we can find his place on the day of arrival, so, he met us at the POI then take us to his place. We stayed at room 2, nice view and quiet room. Mijas is a great place to visit and restaurant we visited is very nice.
Good villa inside the nature 20 mins from Malaga. Very near the highway and beaches.
Large rooms and good view,
Excellent welcome from Andrew, he is very keen to customers.
We had a great time staying at Andrew's wonderful villa! The room and the bathroom were nice, clean and very big. The house is situated in absolutely beautiful surroundings, so we had a fantastic view from the balcony.
Andrew and everyone else in the house were very kind and helped us with any problem or question we had.
Thank you for everything, Andrew!
I went there with my family did not realise that we would need to share the villa with the host and his dog. We found it a bit intrusive. The place is more like a hostel. On the positive the location and setting of the villa is fantastic the view of the mountain is amazing. Also the bathroom and the kitchen are very clean. However the bedrooms especially the quality of the beds are very poor. A number of us also got bits from bed bugs including my two year old. We would not be staying there again unless they modernise the bedrooms and get decent beds. Both Andrew and his dog were however very nice.
Warm welcome, nice and big room with an original bathroom, everything clean in a gorgeous house with phenomenal people. It was the last night of our trip in Andalusia and a magical one. A Polish young woman danced a kind of an arab dance with so much grace and feeling, just amazing... a dutch couple so open and happy... two original guys from Rumenia and Spain and Andrew and his gentle two brothers.
We were sitting at a table like a big family and Andrew was the great brother opening his arms to welcome us. Thank you Andrew for your big heart.
Andrew! Thank you so much! We had a great time in your wonderful home! Thank you for your kindness and patience with our large, noisy, "mad" russian companies. :)
Beautiful views. Great place to stay if you're looking for a hostel vibe and a friendly host. Right next to a great municipal swimming pool.
