Soak up groovy Topanga vibes and commune with nature at the Pirates of the Caribbean Getaway freestanding guest home. Highlights include lush tropical landscaping, private lawn, furnished decks, hot tub and sauna, an outdoor bathtub and shower, a queen size bed, and large flat screen TV. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, toaster oven, electric stovetop, and Keurig coffee maker. Pirates can accommodate up to 2 adult guests but no children or pets.

The space
Pirates of the Caribbean Getaway is a freestanding guest house that sits in the middle of a property that stretches up an east-facing hillside. At the bottom of the property is a 3 level building with the Avatar Tropical Treehouse Airbnb on the 1st level and two long term rental units on the 2nd and 3rd levels. At the very top of the property is Darrell's tiny home, large deck, and treehouse. Everyone on the property observes the 10 PM - 8 AM quiet hours. The lush landscaping, many water features, custom stone steps and rockwork require constant upkeep so guests may see a laborer on the property. The expansive property ensures privacy for both guests and tenants.

Guest access
Upon arrival, Darrell will give you a grand tour of the property and identify the outdoor areas and amenities that are exclusively for Pirates' guests:

- One parking spot under the carport
- Small front lawn and deck adjacent to the guest house
- Large open lawn with view of the mountains
- Large deck with picnic table and double chaise lounge
- Stone patio with hot tub, sauna, and outdoor shower

Other things to note
Topanga Canyon is a rural community where residents and visitors share space with mother nature, local wildlife and insects.

Topanga State Beach is an 8 minute drive & Topanga State Park is about a 5 minute drive. In Topanga, there are many hiking trails, some with eight thousand year-old Indian caves & waterfalls.
Mimosa Cafe is the village coffee shop, which is a 10 minute hike down the hill. Just across the way from Mimosa, there is a natural foods store & a little mini market. Santa Monica & Malibu are a beautiful 15 minute drive along Pacific Coast Highway.

Suggested local restaurants would be Inn of the Seventh Ray, Froggy's & Cholada Thai food. Great restaurants in Malibu are Geoffrey's, Nobu Sushi & Cafe Habana.
The closest large grocery store is a Von's Market, located on Sunset Blvd. There's also a natural foods market & deli in Malibu, named PC Greens. Additionally, a local raw smoothie & juice bar has opened recently, about a 5 minute drive from my place called Topanga Living Cafe in Topanga!

Topanga has been my home since the 1970s and since the 1980s, I’ve had a vintage shop in the canyon called Hidden Treasures. For me there is no life without art.
