  • What a delightful stay we had at this charming condo. Both bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed. The kitchen is well lit, user friendly and has everything one needs. Bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. Only missing this is a communal living room area which we did not want or need. We were always out and about. It is a very easy walk to the subway. For those new to large urban and mixed cultural environments, staying in Harlem may seem a bit daunting but we had absolutely no issues and found the locals delightful and very helpful. It is located on a very quiet block as well. Frank and James were always easy to get hold of and very helpful in every way. We would definitely stay here again when we head back.

  • The place was great and we didn't have a single complaint in the two weeks that we spent there. We enjoyed our trip knowing that we were staying in a very good apartment and our hosts were there in case we needed them. We would definitely return.

  • We stayed in the apartment for a week in July. It's very well located in Harlem in a residential area. It was quiet at night so we slept with the window open.
Transport to Midtown and lower Manhattan takes about half an hour. Most of the time we took the express A train but there is also a bus stop around the corner that takes you directly to the museum mile.
Thanks James & Frank for the flexibility to deposit our luggage on the first day and leave it in their apartment on the last day as we had an evening flight.
All equipment is available as described and functions well. You can also prepare a meal as there are small shops nearby.
I would recommend this place and gladly return.

  • Our family spent 10 nights at this apartment in Harlem and had an absolutely fantastic time. The owner, Frank was very helpful and informative and is a wonderful host. The apartment itself is beautifully presented and made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The area is very safe and gives the visitor a genuine feel for city life in Uptown Manhattan. We regularly came home quite late at night and always felt secure, even with two young children.
We highly recommend this place to stay if you're after a taste of the real New York City lifestyle.

  • The apartment was just as promised. It felt like a nice hotel. It was nice to see that the kitchen was well supplied with all the cooking tools you might need. J&F were lovely and we wish we had had more time to hear about the work they are doing on the building. We didn't spend much time in Harlem but there is certainly lots there to see. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance too.
As with any trip to NYC you should plan on walking and comfortable shoes.

  • We had a lovely 5 night stay with Frank & James. The apartment was excellent and the bed really comfortable. We felt safe and tri a few local restaurants. Most of the time we used the subway to get around. Having free internet was reealy useful.

Frank was welcoming and unobtrusive, yet available when needed. We would definitely return.

Although the property suggest it sleeps 4, our adult daughter who slept on the sofa bed said it was not comfortable. Really only for 2 or maybe extra for small children.

There was lots of information available in th apartment that we found very useful.

Although I was born sixty miles north of New York City, I am a true New Yorker, having lived here most of my life. My husband, Frank, grew up in Connecticut. I am a Designer; Frank is a Music Teacher. Frank and I have lived together in Manhattan for over fifteen years (eight years here in Harlem). We reside in the house, on the bottom two floors. We know the neighborhood, and more importantly, we are close with many of our neighbors. Feel free to ask us anything. We'll be more than happy to help with your plans, before and during your stay in NYC. We look forward to meeting you...
