Just blocks from University of Texas, the second floor is all yours in this historic house in North University. Gigabit internet, HBO, your own bathroom great convenience to shops and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood in the heart of it all.

The space

There's no better neighborhood in Austin than North University and our spacious upstairs in our historic, two-story brick house will feel like your home-away-from-home.

Guests will have access to a 330-square-foot room that has a bed, sectional sofa, desk and closet. The TV swivels to both the bed nook and the sectional. Amenities include Gigabit Wi-Fi internet, HD cable/HBO.

Guest access

Guests will have access to full upstairs, as well as downstairs kitchen, laundry back yard, front patio and outdoor grill.

Interaction with guests

My wife and I live here and the master bedroom is on the ground floor, where we sleep. We ask that you try and minimize the noise downstairs after 10 or 11 pm. We also have a garage apartment we rent out.

Other things to note

We have two 30 lb. dogs, so "dog people" are preferred. One of our dogs is a rescue who takes a little while to get comfortable with new people. We ask that you be patient with her, maybe give her a little treat or two, and she'll be in your lap in no time.

Parking is restricted on the street. We can provide one visitor's pass. But this is not a neighborhood where you need a car. We also have a garage you can keep a bike if you are bringing one. We also have a garage apartment we rent out on a month-to-month basis.

Brandon's accommodations exceeded our expectations. The second level is a beautiful Southern style space with two bedrooms and a private bathroom with lots of windows and unique details you could not find even in a boutique hotel. They welcomed us with glass of wine and gave us many recommendations for Austin that we took. The neighbourhood has lots of food trucks, novelty shops, restaurants, university bars and live music. We had an authentic Austin experience staying here and highly endorse these hosts! Thank you Brandon and Abby for making our Austin weekend so memorable

Brandon and Abby were home to greet us when we arrived. They are very personable and we enjoyed visiting with them and learning the history about the house. It's a great house and we had the entire upstairs. Loved that we had space to relax and watch a little T.V. They had a coffee maker that we could use in the kitchen and that is a must for my husband. We had some activities on the UT campus and it's a 16 minute walk to the north end of campus. Saves on parking! We stayed two nights and slept very well, there were mints on our pillows too. Lovely neighborhood with interesting houses. Would definitely stay there again!

Brandon's historic home is just as lovely as described in his listing. The house was spacious, clean, and comfortably cozy. I was given the choice of which of the three bedrooms on the upper floor I'd prefer and chose one with two banks of windows and a ton of wonderful light. The neighborhood was very idyllic and a short stroll to some great cafes, tacos and a very inviting food co-op. It is a short 15 min drive to downtown. Despite the fact I was in town attending a conference and didn't have much downtime, Brandon and Abby welcomed me and made me feel very comfortable in their home. Over a breakfast cuppa, we shared some stories on a Saturday morning. Their dogs are friendly and interested in guests. I love dogs so it was a delight for me. Brandon is very courteous about his guests privacy, putting up a baby gate to separate the dogs from entering the top floor where I was staying. And on Halloween night, I returned from a long conference day to find some surprise candy on my pillow. Ha! A very cute treat. I wished I could have had more time staying here- not just for the space but also because Brandon and Abby are really lovely people.

Brandon and Abby were great hosts. I left my keys in an uber and Abby was great at helping me get in and out that night. The room was very spacious and very nicely decorated. The shower was excellent. Really nice and hot especially after the dusty ACL. I slept like a rock and that's a nice thing, because I never get a good night sleep outside my own place. You can walk to a great coffee shop that Abby recommended and I do as well. I didn't really use my car because most of the placed I went to were walkable or a 5 dollar lyft away. I will definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity. Told all my friends about it too. Thanks a lot for the hospitality Brandon and Abby.
