Hotel-level accommodation at home in a top location for those interested in mountain biking, canoeing and hiking in Mäntyharju. The space
The bright and newly renovated rental apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a detached house, in a central location near the center of Mäntyharju, only 800 meters from the train station and 200 km (2 hours) from Helsinki.
There is a Massage Service (Kaija Heinonen) on the 1st floor of our house and you can also get a local guide service and guided nature tours from us. Our own apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the house and a rental apartment in the penthouse on the 3rd floor of our house.
Accommodation facilities:
There is accommodation for a total of 7 adults (2 + 1 bedrooms, spacious and well-equipped kitchen and your own bathroom / toilet). If you have small children, please note, that there is no security gate at the top of the staircase leading to the apartment! There is however door's that can be closed.
Bedrooms:
There are two spacious bedrooms (20 m2) and one summer room which is used only in summer time or when it is warm enough as in the summer room there is no heating.
Master bedrooms:
The rose room at the north end has a comfy double bed (180 cm) and a bed (80 cm), a wardrobe, a bookcase full of books (mainly in finnish), a bedside table and an aerial TV. The blue room (20 m2) has a new double bed (detachable to two single beds) as well as a sofa bed with a good mattress (150 cm), a wardrobe, bedside tables and a large 49-inch smart TV. Wifi and Netflix service is included the accommodation price.
Other services:
For example free walking sticks (2 pcs) and thin yoga/exercise mats (2 pcs). The apartment also has an iron and ironing board and a drying rack. The shower room has basic detergents, hairspray, a hairdryer as an EA bag and other toiletries. Toilet paper is included in the price of the apartment. Also, the basic kitchen equipment with baking paper and e.g. with tea and coffee service.
Garden area:
In the spacious courtyard you can jump, play yard games, throw darts and just relax. In the garden surrounding the house it is nice to have a refreshment anyway, as there are flower plantations and other things to see, as well as a wooden tree house (it's old so please use only under the supervision of an adult). There is also a dining / coffee area in the courtyard. Smoking place is also located in the garden.
Parking facilities:
There is free parking space in the courtyard. In winter we can arrange 2 cars at the same time for heating. Please note that you must drive to the lower yard, as at the upper yard is our only parking for guests arriving for a massage.
Pets:
Pets are also welcome as our guest - but if they like to lie on the beds and sofas, please ask for protective blankets before you arrive. Protective blankets and dog towels we are happy to provide to our guests free of charge, so we save on laundry costs!
Kitchen has a few steel cups for food / drinks and a plastic protective base under the food cups.
Mountain bikers:
Dog covers can also be used by mountain bikers and note! the wheels can be taken in a lockable exterior if necessary. Towels for dogs can even be placed under the curls. We get the wheels rinsed if necessary. There is no other lockable space yet, but there are several wheels under the roof. The outdoor hall can accommodate 2-3 bikes, if you want to fit in the apartment.

Our blue detached house is located at the intersection of the village center, about 10-15 km from road 5 (depending on the direction of entry) and also accessible via train.
Our popular market area (in summer time) is about 800 m and the nearest shop (M-shop), about 30 m. Within walking distance there are several cafes, shops, shops, restaurants, K-supermarket, S-market, Tokmanni, Mainio and various outdoor and sports opportunities in Kisala area and the nearest beach and canoeing center are less than 1 km away.
Other things to note
Mäntyharju offers a wide range of things to see and do – from culture to nature.
You’ll find 10 different museums, two summer theatres and the well-known Taidekeskus Salmela art centre, as well as local farms, cafés and traditional Finnish dance events.
For outdoor lovers, the area is especially known for its excellent nature experiences. Nearby you’ll find Repovesi National Park, as well as an award-winning network of mountain biking, hiking and canoeing routes connecting Mäntyharju and Repovesi.
The region is home to over 500 lakes and offers:
– two long canoeing routes (including the scenic Keisarinlähde 5-lake route)
– marked hiking trails (approx. 50 km)
– around 160 km of cycling routes
– one marked mountain biking trail
– several swimming spots
– 14 campfire sites and shelters
– about 100 km of cross-country ski tracks in winter
