Locates 4 miles from Mutton Creek Marina, our cabin provides the perfect getaway. Nestled in the woods, the 2-bedroom/2-bath cabin features a full kitchen, front and back covered decks, & fire pit/grill. Double carport provides protected FREE parking + ample space for boats, trucks, and trailers on circle drive. We provide the basics + many extras such as condiments, a coffee bar, and baby and kid-friendly items.
The space
Outside amenities
Guests can enjoy watching wildlife from the front or back covered decks, which extend the entire length of the cabin. Several chair and table groupings as well as porch swings provide a relaxing place to take in the peaceful setting. Deer are common; turkeys, owls, and other wildlife may occasionally be heard. A firepit/grill is the perfect setting for roasting marshmallows or preparing an entire meal. Outdoor chairs are provided for the fire ring; bring lawn chairs if additional seating is needed. Grilling utensils and wood are provided. Charcoal may also be used in fire pit if desired. Beware of snakes, ticks, mosquitoes, and such; it is a woodsy setting. We have the property professionally sprayed for insects, but bug spray is still recommended. A portable cornhole (beanbag toss) game is available.
An outdoor storm shelter is located at the west end of house complete with lighting and ventilation. Three chairs located within the storm shelter must remain in the shelter so they will be there in case of emergency. Ample outdoor lighting with some motion sensors for safety and peace of mind.
Indoor amenities
Cabin is newly remodeled with new and updated appliances, new carpet and laminate throughout, and fresh paint. New furnishings throughout cabin. Cell phone signal booster increases signal inside of house. Wifi is also available as well as Roku and chrome cast TV in each bedroom. A new washer and dryer are available. We provide the basics such as cooking utensils, kitchenware, coffee, some spices, and linens. We stay in the cabin when it's not rented, so we also keep convenience items available for guests such as condiments, spices, grilling utensils, cleaning supplies, and more.
The main kitchen has a bar with four stools as well as a drop-leaf table that can accommodate at least four more guests. Additional groupings of chairs and swings on the covered front and back decks are avaliable for outdoor dining. Additional seating is provided at the firepit.
Our story
After visiting the area for more than 15 years for turkey hunting, we finally found a cabin to call our getaway cabin! We purchased the 20-acre property in July 2021 and personally spent three months renovating the neglected home inside and out as well as the grounds. We have poured ourselves in to making the cabin nice for guests as well as our friends and family. We hope you enjoy the Mutton Creek Getaway as much as we already have in the short time we've owned it!
Although we've primarily visited the Stockton Lake area in the past for turkey hunting, camping, and a little hiking, we now know the area's restaurants, attractions, facilities, and people. It's a friendly area with a laid-back, small-town feel -- perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the work week. The cabin's woodsy setting brings an immediate peaceful and serene mood while reconnecting with nature. Come to the Mutton Creek Getaway to rewind and refresh.

Guest access
Ample parking is available for trucks, boats, and trailers. A carport provides covered parking for two vehicles and is long enough to cover a portion of a boat or trailer. A circle driveway enables easier navigation and maneuverability for boat and camp trailers. Now available: a full hook-up RV site with 50 amp service with pull through for additional nightly fees.
Other things to note
There are no gas lines in the cabin; the propane heat system is on the outside of the home. Therefore, a carbon monoxide detector is unnecessary.
Pets are not allowed. Hunting is not allowed.
Grilling on the wooden porches is not allowed for safety reasons. Smoking is not allowed inside.
Guests acknowledge that activity on the property carries with it the potential for accidents and injury, and all liability is waived. For your safety and well-being, we provide fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, first aid kits, a storm shelter, and emergency information at hand in the cabin.
