A flat in central Athens, walking distance to the Acropolis, 5 min walk to Thissio station (green line) and Keramikos station (blue line). The flat is on a pedestrian street, on the fourth floor. It's quiet and sunny throughout the day, with windows in all rooms. It has one bedroom with wardrobes, an average living room with a small office at one corner, a bathroom with tub and a small though efficient kitchen. The flat is equipped with all basic appliances except TV. In case this is an issue, I can arrange to have one upon prior request.
The flat has the following sleeping options: one queen size bed (110cm wide) located in the bedroom, a sliding bed, a futon (japaneze mattress) and a two people sofa.
Those travelling during summertime will have the luck to enjoy the huge veranda of the flat (30m2). The veranda has a sliding bed which functions both as a sofa as well as an extra bed for those who like to sleep outdoors (the bed can be easily moved inside too). The veranda is full of plants, some of which are edible herbs (like louisa, rosemary and pepermint) -feel free to try them! Around the building there are mostly two storage houses, leaving the veranda with a great open view of Athens. However, don't forget to check the view of the Acropolis from the tiny back balcony of the bedroom.
The flat is in Keramikos area, one of Athens most hype areas at the moment. Though basically a residential area, one can find many galleries and alternative boutiques in the streets of Keramikos mixed up with Greek low profile tavernas - nothing like touristic restaurants - and traditional cafes. The area is at walking distance to all major monuments of the city (Akropolis, Agora, Keramikos ancient cemetery, National Archaeological Museum).
For those who enjoy nightlife, Keramikos has already quite a few bars but in only 12 min walk you can reach Gazi, Petralona and Psiri areas, all of them full of bars and clubs for all lifestyles (rock, house, gay/lesbian, alternative, hipster etc. etc.). Make sure to direct yourself to the area that most fits your taste!
Travelers who like to go joking or walking can enjoy the proximity with Areopagitou pedestrian promenade (5 min walk), probably the most beautiful spot of the city. The promenade runs between the Acropolis and Filopappou hills, both full of Mediterranean vegetation, great pedestrian paths and ancient monuments spread all around.
Our stay in Zacharias's flat was a pleasure. It's clean, well decorated and the big terrace is a real plus! Zacharias is very nice and helpful. Besides, the neighborhood of the appartment is very cool with a lot of bars and restaurants where the Athenians actually eat. Book here whithout any hesitation!
Lovely flat just off the beaten path in Athens. It was the perfect antidote to the crowds of the city, but within walking distance of just about everything.
Great flat in a great location. Would definitely stay here again next time in Athens.
A gorgeous flat with a balcony that made me want to move to Athens immediately. Super interesting neighbourhood that you can spend days exploring. Walking distance to the Acropolis, numerous open air cinemas and an endless supply of great bars and cafes. Easy recommendation.
the area is full of nice bars and restaurants. thanks to all the helpful tips we got from zacharias or his friends we had a great time in athen and on our further travel to the pelopennes.
Zacharias' appartment was perfect:
- Perfect location - not only close to touristy places like the acropol etc. but also close to places with nice bars and athenian nightlife.
- Great appartment with huge terrace to enjoy the sunset before dinner.
- Zacharias was very nice and always answered very quickly to our messages.
Thank you very much!
We had a great stay at Zacharias' flat. The area is wonderful and a short walk from the subway and most sites. The veranda is also great - we slept out there to stay cool (though needed lots of bug spray and coils). Would definitely recommend it, particularly because of the location!
We really enjoyed our stay in this cool flat. The veranda is massive and great for relaxing (and sleeping). The area has lots of great bars within a few minutes walk. It really comes alive at night. Recommended!
Amazing days in Athens, a very charming Mediterranean capital!
It's a cosy appartment, felt instantly home, great and quiet neighborhood, easy to reach by walk all the main areas of Athens and Zacharias is a nice person and try his best to make the stay convenient.
