Welcome to Gulfport and to our cozy Blue Arbor Guest Cottage. Gulfport is a neighborly little town of 13,000 nestled on the shores of Boca Ciega Bay in the Tampa Bay/central Gulf Coast area of Florida. Blue Arbor is a quiet little spot just around the corner from everything that’s happening in Gulfport. And believe us, a LOT is happening in Gulfport.
Your hosts are Roger Turner and Michael O’Toole, and our guest cottage is an intimate, private, 350-square-foot one-room structure built four years ago specifically as guest quarters for friends and family. Its main room features hardwood floors, oriental rugs, a king size bed, ceiling fan, some of our extensive art collection, and three windows overlooking our large, bountiful yard. You’ll also find a comfortable upholstered chair in the corner for reading/relaxing and a desk/work table under a big window for writing and/or working on your computer (if you must). There is also a roomy closet, full bath with large, walk-in tile shower, and a food area that features a coffee maker, a toaster, a microwave and a small refrigerator. And yes, we have wi-fi and cable TV.
Outside your front door is a private, protected little front porch—a great place to drink your morning coffee, sit and watch the world go by, or even smoke. And just steps away is our visitor-friendly hot tub, always ready to give you a warm, relaxing soaking.
Then, when you’re ready, you’ll find Beach Boulevard right around the corner. That would be our four-block-long-plus main street featuring all the shops, restaurants, music venues and watering holes you could ever want. They’re too numerous to mention, but come on down and we’ll tell you our favorites. Then there’s the First Friday Art Walk, the Third Saturday Art Walk, the Tuesday Fresh Market and bazaar, Spring Festival (April), GeckoFest (September) and, well, more—lots more. And, oh yes, our beach.
Okay, if you MUST leave Gulfport, the Gulf beaches are just minutes away, or try St. Petersburg next door: top notch live theater at American Stage and freeFall Theater, or the world famous Salvador Dali Museum, housed in its stunning new building, and old favorite Sunken Gardens, to name just a few. Or cross the bay to Tampa for the Straz Performing Arts Center, or Ybor City, the historic Cuban community that is now club central, or Busch Gardens. And Disney World is just an hour and a half away.
But when you’re finished, be sure to come back to Gulfport and to your cozy accommodations at Blue Arbor. There’s no place like home.

Recently spent four nights at this picturesque cottage while we were searching for property in Gulfport. Roger and Michael were the perfect hosts in every way. They generously shared of their time to answer my questions about the area and community. The cottage was stocked with anything you might need or might have forgotten when packing for your trip. Coffee and half and half in the fridge and biscotti are such examples of their thoughtfulness. The place was spotlessly clean, artistically decorated, quiet and well located. The neighborhood is safe, and you can park directly in front of the property. You are within walking distance to downtown Gulfport, the library, the senior center, and the historical association, among other places. It doesn't get any better than this for proximity and value for your money.
Roger and Michael's cottage is simply adorable and was perfect for my week stay. They were super accommodating of my last minute booking. Great location - close to restaurants, bars and the beach!
Roger and Michael were wonderful hosts! They were very warm and welcoming and even allowed us to extend our stay for a few days. The cottage was very private, comfortable, and esthetically pleasing with beautiful pieces of art all around. We loved that we were able to walk just a few blocks for dinner, drinks, live entertainment, and of course the beach! We will definitely stay here again when we decide to come back to Gulfport.
Had a great stay here. Hosts were low key and kept themselves to themselves, the apartment was great, and the area is super cool. Great restaurants and a friendly vibe. Hope to come back!
We were treated to an immaculate and comfy place to stay. Gulfport is a charming place. Our hosts were very welcoming.
We had a wonderful stay at Roger and Michael's Blue Arbor Cottage during our first, of hopefully many, visits to Gulfport.
The cottage is as pretty as the pictures on Airbnb and was also immaculately clean. The location is fantastic, just a block and a half from the northern end of Gulfport's main street.
Michael and Roger are also wonderful hosts...and people. The night of our arrival, our flight was delayed by several hours causing us to arrive around 2am. Even though we had received instructions on how to get into the cottage, Michael waited on us just to make sure we arrived OK. They also ended up inviting us to join them at "local's night" at one of the bars where they introduced us to several of their Gulfport friends.
If you are a single, couple or even a couple with a small child, and your travels land you in Gulfport, we would suggest you stay at the Blue Arbor Cottage.
Roger and Michel treated us like friends and made us feel like Gulfport was home.
We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfy, and the cottage was immaculate. It was nice to have such a feeling of privacy. We loved the neighborhood, our kitty friend outside, and the food. The pictures and reviews really don't convey how amazing Blue Arbor Cottage is...or how amazing Gulfport is! Again, we loved everything about our stay. I have already told just about everyone I know about the cottage and the town. Thank you again!
Blue Arbor Guest Cottage is a perfect place to stay in Gulfport. The cottage is nicely decorated and provided everything we needed. Roger and Michael were gracious hosts. We enjoyed visiting with them, and appreciated the fact that they live adjacent to the cottage. Their "welcome book" contains great area information. We enjoyed the restaurants they recommended. We would definitely recommend staying at the Blue Arbor Cottage. Five stars!
Bluearbor Guest House was the perfect place for us. The cottage was immaculately clean, well decorated and extremely comfortable, especially the kingsize bed. There was a good amount of space for the two of us. Our hosts, Roger and Michael were always considerate, helpful and respectful of our privacy. They thoughtfully provided a bottle of wine, coffee and creamer to greet us when we arrived. The area, Gulfport, had great little restaurants and shops. We were often out visiting family or going to the beautiful beaches. We were so grateful to be able to come back to the quiet comfort of the guest house every night. We would certainly like to stay at Bluearbor again. Thanks, Michael and Roger.
Our stay at the cottage in Gulfport was excellent in every way. Roger is an artist and both the cottage and grounds around it were very beautifully designed and laid out. We dealt mostly with Michael who was a delight to deal with. Not only was he able to help us out when we requested it, he also anticipated what we might need. His restaurant recommendations were right on target. Our dining experience in Gulfport was superb. The village itself is a real pleasure - a retro gem amongst all the glitz.
highly recommended. Roy Adams
