This apartment is quite lovely. We had a very warm welcome with a great gift basket and homemade biscuits to die for. The owner of the villa, Breda, was every bit as kind and hospitable as the other reviews indicate and we really enjoyed visiting with her.
The apartment was immaculately clean, flawlessly maintained, very well stocked and the balcony had a great view of Bled castle and the mountains beyond. Perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine! It was an easy walk to town and very quiet.
The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning. While we were there in July, the temperature spiked at 91 degrees F (33 C) and we thought we were going to spontaneously combust. Breda kindly lent us an electric fan and brought us cool, fresh blueberries, but there was still no escape from the heat. Thankfully, the temperature eventually cooled and we were able to enjoy this truly special place.
The apartment is wonderful in every way. It is well equipped, clean and the real wood fireplace was a huge hit for the children. The view from the balcony is amazingly beautiful, and the best part is the hospitality. Maya and Breda made our stay really special. Highly recommend it.
Thank you Breda and Maya for everything. We love you, and we hope to come back to see you again. :)
Our stay at Villa Breda in Bled was wonderful. The apartment is located in a quite street but an easy walk to the lake, restaurants etc. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and immaculate. The view from the balcony of the castle and mountains is gorgeous. All arrangements with Lora and Lili went smoothly. They were very helpful and agreed to a latish date change. Lora's mum Breda (as in Vila Breda) who lives in the floor below treated us to stories, goulash, cooking lessons, blueberries and cream. She sent us on our way with local honey and a lovely wooden bee mobile. Would highly recommend this lovely apartment and the personal hospitality.
Absolutely loved every moment at Villa Breda and Lake Bled. We were very warmly welcomed by Lili who helped arrange all our taxis and showed us everything we needed in the apartment- especially the most important thing- the amazing view! The balcony is spectacular and a lovely peaceful place to relax. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. Villa Breda is the most equipped placed I have ever stayed with tea, coffee, bread, jams, and even some pasta & sauce! Best of all was the delicious biscuits which we enjoyed throughout our stay. Best of all was the amazing Breda who lives in the middle apartment. Breda very generously shared her potnic cake with us- and her time as she shared the history of Bled. Breda was an inspiring person to meet and one of our highlights of the trip. We were very sad to say cheerio but hope to visit again soon. Thank you to everyone for their kindness!
Wonderful stay at Vila Breda in July 2014. Unique accommodation with a memorable and very welcoming host. During our 10 day stay, we wanted for nothing and were treated to local homemade biscuits and dishes. We even arrived to a lovely welcome hamper with fresh fruit and homemade juice.
We had the gorgeous top floor apartment which was extremely spacious and spotless. Our balcony looked out to the castle offering a stunning view and we also had use of the garden for dining or relaxing.
The apartment is located a 5-10 minute walk to the lake in a very pleasant and quiet area of Bled. This apartment would be perfect for couples or families.
We had an unforgettable time in stunning Bled and will definitely return. When we do, we will definitely return to Vila Breda!
Our stay at Villa Breda was unforgettable and by far my favorite place through our three week country-to-country trek. It’s hard to describe in a short paragraph just what made it so wonderful, but I will try…
The villa seems new because of the fine design of the remodel, though it still retains the charm of it’s origin. My 24 year old son and I were very comfortable staying there, it allowed us to each have our own space. The location is fantastic with coffee shops, stores, restaurants and of course Lake Bled very near. I’m sorry I was unable to meet Lora since she was traveling, but I feel lucky to have met her friend Lili, who was our contact. Lili was wonderful and felt like an old friend from the moment we got in touch through airbnb. She greeted us and made us feel very welcome and at home. She was very easy to reach whenever I had questions. It also was so nice to have a small stock of food left for us so we didn’t have to shop right away…bread, fruit and cookies…so thoughtful and much appreciated!
Now, for the best part….Breda.
Breda is Lora’s mom who lives on the main level of the villa (we stayed in the upper level). What a warm and welcoming lady! We shared many great conversations including the history of the area which was very informative since the purpose of my journey from America was to meet my Slovenian cousins and find out more about my great grandparents who were from Zgornje Gorje (very close to Bled). Breda is kind, considerate and very fun. She was generous with her time when I asked for help with the Slovic language. When it was time to leave, I felt like I was leaving a close friend. I will be back. As Breda said, I have Slovenian blood, but after my dip in Lake Bled it is now in my heart! Thank you Breda, Lili and Lora!!
