I didn't feel very safe at this accommodation, and because of this I only stayed for half of the time that I'd booked. It's located at the top of a public housing building, which feels like a prison to get in and out of, and the area around it is much of the same. The host didn't have the best English, which made it hard to communicate when trying to find the place and check in. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, however, the other people in my room checked in at about 2am the first night, which really ruined my sleep.
The room/flat were alright. You get what you pay for. While it's a shared room, I had it for my self during the week I stayed. It was a bit difficult to find at first, and when I contacted John for directions all he could say was to "use your GPS and ask people". Not sure that's the most helpful of advices when someone is new t a city. Other than that, it was a decent stay.
So-so, not maintained particularly well. Was put off by other guests lounging around in their underwear, the bathroom and the building. John offered decent hospitality, but I wouldn't stay again.
My biggest issue with this place is cleanliness and tidiness. I don't even dare to use the toilet, bath and kitchen. Well, I got what I paid for!
The rests are okay, nothing to complain about.
Oh, one thing more: the place is easy to reach with a bus from and to Victoria. But it's hard to find for the first time when you don't have any idea that this place is on the 9th floor of an apartment building. John must specified not only the exact address but also the name of the building and which floor it lies.
I like the calmness of the surrounding though!
John was welcoming and easy to get along with. He waited for me outside to help me find the place. I was in a last minute bind as well to find a place for the night and John was quick to respond with a great place to stay the night.
This place is full of international travelers from many different corners of the globe and will provide you with an integral aspect of what makes the London experience so beautiful. Battersea Park is a block away and the river is just beyond and both are worth seeing from this part of the city. Learn the bus and train routes and you will be set to experience the amenities the city has to offer.
It was a good host .... the flat is very close to the bus stop and from there you can get different places very quickly
