The Space

Our B&B is conveniently situated close to the Ponte Galeria Railway Station, where you can take the Line A which will take you to the Fiumicino Airport in only 5 minutes, it is also appreciated for the fast connection to the center of Rome (Roma Ostiense station, Roma Trastevere station and Roma Tiburtina station). The Train passes everything 15 minutes. Combining traditional hospitality with modern standards of comfort and service all our rooms offer colour tv and airconditioning, there is also the possibility of "Family Room".
We want to stess the ideal location of our bed and breakfast: in 4 minutes with the train (the stop is in front of the house) you can reach Parco Leonardo, a big area with malls, shops, and everything you could possibly need during your stay.
Our B&B provides also access to Internet, Fax, email services. Guest car parking facilities are available. Restaurants, shops and banks are within easy reach. We speak English and German.

  • Location is convenient across the train station. 10min from airport. Before entering the home you have to fight through some weeds and insects. When entering the home if you don't mind the strong smell of animals your fine. Internet access is VERY limited, she has a portable system that only works if you continuously work Otherwise it clocks out after 2-3hrs Or you can use her portable key for your laptop that is not compatible with a Macbook you will have to download a program first and it still did not work. At night she takes this back to her room at a very early time and you will have NO access, she explains this is not a full service Internet and to find access elsewhere if its during late hours and do not disturb her past 11pm. I was very disappointed. When suggested a new option she insisted her way was better. The host was a little too aggressive for me, i did not feel i could approach her. The room was clean comfy, i also only saw packaged biscuits for breakfast i rushed out the house next morning as I did not feel comfortable to eat in that odour. You get what you pay for, I'd rather pay more. I hope that she will improve for her next guests.

  • My stay at Happy Days was wonderful. Marlen was a great host and even let me use her cell phone if I got lost in Rome. Her home is very comfortable and convenient to Rome. I will definitely stay with her again when i'm back in Rome.

  • Marlen is a wonderful host, and her home is beautiful and so conveniently located. The small room No. 2 that I used was so clean and perfect for one person, and there are other larger rooms available for couples. The bathroom deserves special mention - very large and spotlessly clean and beautiful - all in marble! I so enjoyed meeting Marlen who made everything easy. She did me a big favor a month before when I made a beginner's mistake on my first booking, and although she didn't have to, she returned the money I paid in full even though she wasn't able to book the room to someone else. Our second booking worked out perfectly, and I would stay here on my next trip to Rome. The location is really perfect - it's on the main train line from the Airport (FCO) to Rome. But don't take the Express, take the local train that makes all the stops on this line. From Rome it takes about 20 minutes and from the airport only about 8 - 10 minutes. The train stop is just a three minute walk from her door. Be sure to ask Marlen by email how to walk to her door - it's very easy and quick, and easy to manage even if you have luggage. There's a pizza place about a minute away with a very friendly staff and great pizza, drinks and chilled wine, and delicious baked chicken with fries. You can also go two quick stops on the train to Parco Leonardo to find everything else you need. Be sure to buy the number of train tickets you'll need to get around at a main station, because the one Tabac at the small Ponte Galeria station that sells tickets ran out them the night I arrived, so I had to take the early train to the airport at 5:30 am without one. I highly recommend staying with Marlen on your trip to Rome, especially if you want a quiet and safe place, reasonably priced and a great value with convenience to Rome Termini, Trastevere, and the international airport.

  • Marlen has been great - there was a mistake in one of my bookings, and he worked with me and the AirBnB to resolve the situation right away. I look forward to staying at Happy Days in October! Thanks, Marlen
