About the Host, Michele
My name is Michele Milne (also known by my Portuguese name Miguela Correia).
After working in the legal world in my teens and later in life, opening up a Portuguese Restaurant with my life partner, Peter Cilliers - as well as my children emigrating overseas - I had an 'AhA' moment and opened up AGAPANTHUS HOUSE SHARE ACCOMMODATION on the slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town for local and international students, interns and NGO volunteers etc. It is running SO successfully that I decided to open up FONTAINEBLEAU HOUSE SHARE ACCOMMODATION in Randburg, Johannesburg.
My son's name is Jos Milne. He has been furthering his career as a Recording Sound Engineer in London for the past 11 years and is now back in Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa.
He is working in partnership with his Dad, Ronnie Milne (one of South Africa's famous drummers of all time) of Allbang & Strumit Music Instrument Shop in Darrenwood Centre, Republic Road, Randburg. They buy, sell, repair and hire accoustic, electric, as well as vintage & rare music instruments and equipment to musicians, the film industry and collectors alike.
It gives us both great joy to see ALL our students and young professionals getting on SO well with each other, helping each other in every way, cooking together, laughing, sharing, joking, learning about each others cultures, sharing photographs of their own backgrounds and cultures, adding their names to each other's Facebook profiles, enjoying a barbeque/braai together etc. It's what life is ALL about ... getting on with each other. Simple!!
