Comfortable and complete mother-in-law apartment easy walking distance from the UW, short bus ride to downtown. Well-equipped kitchen, and enjoy fresh, raw honey from our backyard bee hives. Lovely neighborhood, great for kids.

The space

Full, separate apartment with side entrance in our beautiful, garden-wrapped Wallingford home. Easy 7 minute walk to the University of Washington, bus stops to downtown / South Lake Union etc., shopping, movie theater, restaurants and bars.

We'll welcome you with organic honey from backyard bee hives (safely removed from your apartment, but available for impromptu tours in season).

The studio apartment features a full kitchen with gas stove, quality cookware, breakfast bar to the living area. The kitchen comes with coffee, cream, and basic condiments. There's a hair dryer and iron included for your use.

For sleeptime, there's a very comfortable queen-size bed and sofa that can convert to a second full-size bed. You're welcome to use the back deck and barbecue, weather permitting.

Wifi Internet access is provided, but no television, sorry! Seriously, you don't need it.

The apartment is attached to our family home, so there is an early-rising, life loving cherubic six-year-old in the equation. We do our best, but walking and talking noise does come through. On the other hand, you don't have to worry about making noise!

Parking on the street is free and generally abundant. Because we are near the university, it tends to fill up during the school day, which may mean if you're looking for a new space between 9 am and 4 pm weekdays during the school year, you may have to go a block or so.

There are several bus routes that stop a few blocks from the house and then head downtown. The trip takes 10 - 20 minutes, depending on destination / time of day.

We've programmed in daily, weekly and monthly rates into AirBnB, so if you request a 7+ day stay, it will automatically quote you the weekly rate, and if you enter 28+ day stay, it will automatically quote you the monthly rate.

Note: we generally have a 3-night minimum. In high season, we may make exceptions to fill in holes.

Jordan and Michelle are amazing hosts. They do care about their guests. Communication was always perfect, we loved the guide of the AirBnB and the neighborhood. The apartment itself is great for a family of 3 (or more). The apartment is well furbished and clean. It is very well connected to downtown by bus, it takes just 20-25 minutes to get to Pike Market. I was visiting the university of and the location was ideal for me as I could walk to university every day. Some of reviews indicated that sounds from upstairs travel downstairs: We did not have any issue with that. Jordan and Michelle are super cautious not to disturb their guests. Our two week stay was truly special for us!

Good place that is close to the UW. However if you would like to sleep before 9 pm, it will be a little bit noise upstairs. The overall place is really clean and nice.

This is a very pleasant and spacious apartment! It is within walking distance to a cute area with restaurants and shops in Wallingford and the car ride to downtown Seattle is quick and easy.

Comfortable. Excellent location if you like a walkable neighborhood with interesting architecture and landscaping, close to shops, cafes, the university, and easy bus access to downtown. Unobtrusive but friendly and responsive host. If you are easily bothered by hearing people walking above you though it is probably not for you. It is a charming but older home, with little if any insulation between the basement apartment ceiling and the floor above.

My stay was less than perfect. Jordan was a great host. He replied to my messages quickly. He was not around and had other Airbnb guests staying in the main house upstairs. The walk out basement has terrible insulation. I can hear everything happening upstairs from talking, moving furniture around, to people peeing and flushing the toilet. The guests upstairs were rowdy and especially loud. They stayed up past 1am, a couple times past 2:30am, and I could hear everything. It felt like we were living below a frat house. I messaged Jordan about the noise and he quickly acted by contacting the other guests. They quieted down after that. The location is great, the unit was spotless and bright, and Jordan was an amazing host, but I honestly wouldn't stay here again due to the noise. It's unfortunate as this is my first less-than-perfect experience. Jordan did the best he could given the situation (even offered to refund me should we decide to leave early) but all in all, we weren't able to sleep. I shouldn't have to wear ear plugs to fall asleep after 2am. If noise isn't an issue for you, it's a lovely home. I'm sure when Jordan is staying upstairs, it's a wonderful experience. I was just really unlucky.

Great location. Just for clarification this is a "basement" below the main house. It is completely "finished" and very well maintained and clean. It has its own entrance so no need to bother the main house guests. Unfortunately we visited when Jordan was out of town and the main house guests were other Airbnb renters that were late night partiers. I can sleep through a hurricane but if you're a light sleeper be sure Jordan will be home before you rent because the risk of having the same guests that we shared the home with makes what would otherwise be an awesome place to stay in Seattle a potential nightmare.

Response from Jordan:
Sorry about that, Dan! For other guests, note that even when we're the upstairs residents, you can hear us moving around up there. We do our best to keep the noise down, especially at night or in the morning, but it's an old house.
