This is a main guest room on the second Fl in a town house, it is located in the university city, friendly and quiet neighborhood.

The Space

Several bedrooms are available in my house, great location!

Also, I can rent the road bike for you if you need!

Italian, American, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese and French restaurants around! ( Pls check in with the guide book which on the right corner of this page)

There are some galleries, sweet and cute bakeries, bars nearby!

This is a cozy, bright and airy room in University City. Comfortabe and neat bedroom on the second floor. Brand new hardwood flooring and refresh finished room, which is really lovely and clean!

If you come to Philly with dear someone, just live in my cozy and elegant guest room on the second floor. A queen size bed just wait for your coming. ( The queen size mattress with the medium-range firmness, the bath room is 3 steps away from your room.)

Also, there are another two bed rooms in my house, same location:

Guest Access

Lynn and Syd are busy, sometimes absent, but nothing important than you have good stay here. It may have other guests in the rooms, please keep the place relatively quiet.

Interaction with Guests

If we are at home, we are going to welcome you in person; if not, after you make the reservation, you gonna receive a check in msg which includes so many details you might need.

The Neighborhood

My house is located in an extremely safe area! ( There is a Police station across the street and the area is patrolled by guards of University City)

Getting around

Though I cannot say it's the center of university city, just look at how convenient it is!

Only 5 mins walking to the 40-market Street subway. 15 mins walking to 30-market amtrak train station. 5 mins walking to the University of Drexel, 10 mins walking to Upenn, 15 mins walking to HUP! 20 Mins walking to Art Museum! If you wanna go to center city, just 5mins walking plus 8 mins subway time!

Other Things to Note

Visitors: If you have visitors, please make us informed first and with my permission to get inside the house. This is the basic manner and respect for your host.

Free wifi, free water and tea. The tea room is on the corner of the bathroom on the second floor, help yourself to fetch the ice water from freezer in the kitchen.

There are plenty FREE off-street parking places, every day after 5 p.m. and during the weekend, it is easy to find one.

  • Unfortunately I didn't have chance to meet them. The house is cute and cozy, Lynn is so fast on the communication. It was impressive when I saw all the information packet on the desk when I first arrived.

  • We enjoyed the apartment, which was well maintained and organized in a delightful house. Our hosts were away for the weekend and we may have been the only guests for the night. The neighborhood is developing, but very convenient to the 30th St Amtrak and, while eating is limited, there are choices.

  • My wife and I stayed with Lynn & Syd for two nights while visiting Philadelphia to look for a new apartment. The room was very clean and comfortable, and Lynn was a wonderful host. She also responded to communication very promptly and made sure we had everything that we needed during our stay. We would highly recommend Lynn & Syd's place to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in the University City area!

  • Lynn was a great host. She was flexible with our arrival time, and gave us a warm welcome. She has prepared all kinds of little amenities and makes clear you are free to use the kitchen. She asked us to bring a towel, which I was surprised by, but then prepared one for us anyway - Thanks Lynn!
The apartment is gorgeously decorated, beautiful wooden floors (so I know why she insists you take shoes off and carry luggage) and the bay window room is cozy. The neighborhood looks like it's just going through a fixing up stage - across the street from the room an old apartment is undergoing a major overhaul. It will no doubt be an even nicer neighborhood in a few years.
The location was perfect for us - we had to go the US Citizen & Immigration Services office on North 41st Street. It's walking distance, as Lynn explained.
All in all, a perfect stay.

    Response from Lynn & Syd:

I provide cleaned towels but not new towels for guests, just give you an option and let you know they are not new and they contact your body. Every bnb has different rules, because it is a home stay not a uniform hotel style. :) Some even have airport limo and breakfast but we don't have. Neighbors are full of students, maybe I use to the areas so I always feel it is lovely.

  • Heres why you should stay at Lynn and Sid's if you're planning a trip to philly.
-they are very prompt when replying to your inquires, which makes things easier.
-we didn't get to meet Sid, but found Lynn to be super polite and accomodating (we needed an iron and she had one waiting for us on our arrival)
-they have a spotless room and bathroom.
    -functioning wifi!
-a really nice tea/coffee station that's easy to access.
-and are very organzied with lists and signs to make things easier for guests.
-snacks in the kitchen for guests!
-only a few blocks away from market street
-If you're planning to give the CS, their place is ideal, 25 minutes away from megabus, 12 minutes from the test center and a pizza place a block away for food needs!

  • My husband and I really liked Lynn's place. It was clean, nice and the location was perfect. The only problem we had was the noise from the neighbors' party one of the night till 4a.m. We understand there is nothing that can be done about it and the place is still great.

  • Lynn and Syd's place was quite Okay as usual: very clean, comfortable and calm. We had got a hard time driving from New England through NJ and DE, but eventually we were rewarded with a very good rest. Next time in Philly we would like to stay there again.
    Thank you guys!

  • We stayed at Lynn and Syd's home and it was a truly beautiful home. The location is excellent. Her home is very close to many universities and public transportation. I was so happy to finally meet Lynn. She is very nice and helpful. Throughout the process of booking online and staying at her house, she answered all of our questions quickly. The room and bathroom were very clean. Lynn has treats, coffee and tea for guests. Overall, we were very happy during our stay. It is a cozy room with a big window. We wish that we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much Lynn and Syd!!! Next time we are in Philadelphia, we will stay at your home again!

  • We booked 3 nights in a room listed as having an "unshared" bathroom. Late on our first night I opened the bathroom door and heard someone in the shower. I informed Lynn via a text message; I thought a guest had made a mistake. Lynn's first response was "No, I never said that is yours. There is another guest share with you." When I pointed out the on-line room description, she texted many things, including: "Really, it [the website] might be wrong." "I wished you had double checked with me before you came. Sometimes website is not updated. . . .and also you did not mention you NEED a private bathroom before you came." We checked out before 10 a.m. the next morning because we did need a private bath and thought that was what we reserved, and we informed Lynn. We ultimately received a partial refund for one unused night and a full refund for the other unused night.

    Response from Lynn & Syd:

I don't think I was rude and the time you informed me you wanted to check out, your reservation still on line. I gave you half refund that was being nice. Don't even want to argue any more, guests judge by yourselves.

  • A very nice place to stay in University City. The hosts were not there during our stay, but were in communication with us. The emails we received before arriving gave us all the information we needed to get to the house and get in. Once we arrived in the room, there was a useful sheet of information that explained anything else we might need to know. I used to live in the neighborhood, so I was familiar with the location. The room itself was clean and quiet, as was the house itself. Everything was good and I would stay here again. Thank you!

As a host: Welcome to stay! Syd works in Philly, Lynn is a graduate student in NYC. There are some vacancy rooms with the convenient location for some months. We think it's a good idea to offer them for the people who really need. We don't make much noise and we are not party animal. Hope you are the ones who really trustful, neat and won't disturb us either. How can we tell you how much we love our home and how lovely it is! Hope you will like it too and enjoy your trip when you stay here! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As a traveler: We are enthusiastic travelers. My family have changed several cities and countries during the last 10 years. Even after we got married,we still enjoy to explore new places. When we are travelling, BNB seems attractive and interesting----great location, not so expensive, clean, more comfortable and most important, it just like at home. We grew up in China. Life to us is a kind of mystic travelling, sometimes you have no choice but accept the challenges. Keeping the room clean and neat wherever we are! :D
