I have a beautiful ground floor, homely 3 bedroom apartment with a twin bedroom, for 1 or 2 people, available for you to stay in during your visit to Edinburgh!
During your stay you will have access to the rest of the flat. I have a fully fitted kitchen which is equipped with all mod cons. You are welcome to cook meals, or wat with me if I happen to be home and cooking! Also you are welcome to help yourself to anything is the cupboards...just, please don't eat everything! Your are also free to use the living room with a television and free view during your stay. Please note that I have a pet rabbit who lives in my living room. The rabbit won't ever be in your room, but if you have allergies please keep this in mind. I have an internet dongle which you are free to use during your stay to check emails, and look up Edinburgh's tourist attractions! There is also on street parking available.
While you are in Edinburgh I can give you advice on the best places to go and things to do. The area has great amenities and an excellent bus service which will have you in the West End in just 15 minutes. Edinburgh is packed with great shopping, tasty restaurants, and historical sights, including Princes Street, the Royal Mile and of course Edinburgh Castle. You will never be stuck for anything to do!
I am a friendly host who will do all in my power to ensure you have a relaxing, fun and memorable stay!
Anne was such a lovely woman! She made everything extremely comfortable, and even drove us to the nearby beach. We were able to come and go as we pleased, and she had everything one could need at her place. The grocery store was in walking distance, and the city center was just a bus ride away. Extremely convenient location for travelers. I would definitely recommend Anne's place!
Anne is a generous and really nice host.
Visitors should be aware of the two rabbits who have access to all rooms if you leave the door open :) In the kitchen there is everything you need for a general cooking.
Amazing host, she made us feel like at home. 100% recommended.
It was really good experience staying with anne these days in Edinburgh! The room was O.K and we´ve got the funny company of Anne´s rabbits. About the location, Edinburgh has a nice public transport so we haven´t got any problems getting into the city. Eventually, if you are going to Edinburgh, you have to meet Anne, she´ll show you the best of this beautiful city.
Anne was very good to us, I felt like in my own home, always very attentive, I took a friend of Scotland and of course if I go I'll stay at Anne. I recommend the most, my experience has been amazing, thank Anne!!!
Close to bus stop, grocery store, post, cafe. Excellent Wifi. Cute but messy rabbits that share the living area. Very small and cold flat. No key locks on bedroom doors for privacy or safety. Door to flat not secure. One small lock, no dead bolt. Over holidays, flat was overbooked with host sleeping on pull out in living area and 8 people using one bathroom. We realize it is Anne's home, but many friends coming and going, even when she is not there. Anne is very personable and appears to be an advocate for her low income neighborhood.
I am a little disappointed in this review as I was generous with spa passes to a 5*, award winning hotel as a gift, a token of my good nature. Angie and Debs spent a month in my home over the festive period which is a big occasion, where they were served haggis and all the trimmings. I live in a safe 'home' with trust and respect so I don't believe in locks on doors. Despite one of my rules being that I am happy to do your washing, on more than one occasion this was disregarded and my facilities misused. My home has gas central heating and 12mm underlay so why was it not mentioned throughout the stay that they were cold? Angie and Debs treated my home like a hostel, admitted that my hospitality was cheaper than a hostel but obviously expect a higher standard. I do live in a low class area which has a great community spirit. I got the feeling that Angie and Debs were a little desperate as they live in a trailer park in Canada which is closed over the winter months so effectively are homeless. I think your criticism is unfair and a reflection on your own predicament
Anne is friendly and warm, we felt like part of the family. We recommend to follow her directions to get home because we didnt and got lost! The apartment is very spacious and comfortable and there is a bus stop very near. You will absolutely have a great time in Edinburgh and at Anne's place
Anne was a great host - she was very friendly and welcomed my son (who is 7) and I into her home and allowed us to come and go as we pleased. The rooms were comfortable for the money paid and were kept nice and clean. The rabbits were a bonus for my young son.
Anne is great - hospitable and communicative, always ready to help or give a piece of advise. Rabbits are no bother at all, they are very funny, in fact. My bed was comfortable, and I loved the blanket; the bathroom is clean and the kitchen is small but very functional. There is a bus stop nearby (it would take me about half an hour to get to Princes street), and a big supermarket is pretty close at hand. The area is peaceful, and I can tell because I usually came back rather late. All in all, I liked my stay very much - thanks, Anne!
Anne has a contagious zest for life. She makes us feel at ease upon our arrival at West Pilton Drive and speaks with us like we were her friends. Anne is very helpful and offers directions/help immediately when we asked. You will be utterly in love with her personality. Having said that, we went to her at a time when she's revamping her carpeting so the house was a little disorganized. But the bed room was very clean and the shower room well-organized and heated. We were given the liberty to use the microwave in the kitchen and put our breakfast in the fridge. This makes it really easy for us to settle our meals. The bunnies are adorable and we had a great time interacting with them. Definitely value for money.
