Alison's home is full of character and warmth. It feels like a retreat space. The attention to detail is really inspiring and I came away eager to live more consciously and joyfully in my own home. The bed is supremely luxurious and the views from the bed over holy loch are incredible - so relaxing. Alison has a relaxed approach to hosting and I felt like a visiting friend (free to potter around in her Kitchen). She's open and warm and fun to be around. The library is inspiring. The views from the bay window in the cosy lounge are breathtaking.... I could go on and on. Definitely a great experience. Thanks Alison.

Alison's place was great, easy to find, comfortable, had an amazing fireplace and bathtub and an exceptional view. Alison gave us lots of suggestions of places to visit and eat, including the restaurant we went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was an amazing surprise (great food in the middle of nowhere)!

Alison is a friendly, interesting host who made me feel very welcome. She has created a lovely space for guests. My only regret was that I could only stay one night!

As a woman travelling alone, Alison's couldn't have been better - I was so well looked after. I booked last minute (about 2 hours before I arrived!) and she was very quick to respond as well as accommodating of the late notice! It was a very easy and beautiful drive from Loch Lomond, so don't be put off by where it looks on a map! Alison's home is located RIGHT on the water with breathtaking views out across the pier. The whole flat is flooded with natural light and Alison's style and eye for detail make her place feel just like home to the travel weary, it's the perfect spot to recoup and recover for just a night, but I could have easily spent an entire week here. This place is straight out of a magazine. The living room is so inviting, with an open fire and incredible views, the kitchen is brilliantly equipped and really enjoyable to cook in! I'd be caught in a typical downfall during the day, so the deep bath, flexibility to cook hot food and enjoy an open fire were all welcome sights! The bed is so very comfy, you can really tell Alison has put a lot of effort into making guests feel at ease. Basil, the rescue dog, potters about and says hello every now but keeps himself to himself (not one of the jumpy up/ hectic dogs, if anyone is wondering!). Alison is a fantastic host, very welcoming and great local knowledge - the sort of woman you can shoot the breeze with! The next morning I visited the local butcher to collect what turned out to be some of the best lamb chops of my life (!) and visited Alison's recommendation of the Benmore Botanical Gardens less than 10 minutes away. Nothing short of stunning. I wouldn't hesitate to re-visit and highly recommend Alison's b&b, and given the location and high comfort of the flat it would also make the perfect nest for self catering. If you want to feel welcome, at ease and enjoy the beauty of Scotland, both the scenic and the hospitality, book in a trip to Alison's.

Alison's Woodbine villa is loaded with character and rustic charm. She provided very clear information and although she was away during our stay Alison kept us informed about the eat outs around that helped a lot. The place is beautiful and location is perfect for day journeys to near by towns and lakes. Highly recommend the place!

My stay with Alison was a truly wonderful experience, I felt at home and at peace while staying. The room is large, bright with a beautiful view of the loch and Alison was the most warm and gracious host, Even though it rained while staying, I will always look back at it as one of my most favorite places in Scotland. I hope when I return, that I will have the pleasure of spending some time there visiting with Alison again.

I didn't get to meet Alison as she was away working but she'd given me brilliant instructions on where her house was, how to get in and where everything was. Lovely and relaxing with a wonderful view with a shop just up the road and restaurants not too far away.

The apartment is restive, calm and relaxed. views over the water are always beautiful, no matter how the weather may change. If you are tired of looking at the water, the house has many books to read, there are lots of good places to eat, and lovely places to be experienced.

I am a traveling chef, this is my home base. I focus on local, fresh ingredients and am very interested in healthy, seasonal and wild foods. I specialise in cooking for vegetarian and restricted diets. When I am home the place is available for B&B, otherwise the apartment is offered on a self catering basis. If I am working away from home, my brother Dougal will host and help you with local information. There is always someone nearby if you need assistance. I will respond to your phone or email enquiry as quickly as I can.

Please note: The apartment is listed as both b&b OR self catering holiday let.
