A home away from home! Everything you could possibly want was provided for you and easy to use, and for the little bits you may want grab there's a shop just around the corner. Beautiful views from the windows, with lots of places to go for walks such as on the loch front or the variety of trails highlighted for you, some as close as 50-100m down the road. Will definitely be a place we think of to stay again on future trips!
Before we even arrived, Alison sent us an email with information about the local area and our stay in her home. Alison then kept us updated when she wasn't going to be at home on our arrival, and told us that we were free to make ourselves at home. Tea and coffee is in the room, but Alison offered us use of the kitchen too and told us to help ourselves to milk in the fridge.
When Alison returned we were sitting in the lounge admiring the wonderful view of the loch. Alison is a very welcoming hostess and Basil her dog is also very friendly!
We had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed, and helped ourselves to porridge and toast for breakfast. Alison also offered us eggs, but we were more than happy with what we had.
We had an excellent stay.
Alice gave us a friendly welcome, even though we were late because of getting lost on our way through the highlands and having no more cellphone-akku to let her know.
The room was large, light and we had an amazing view over the water.
Definitely worth a trip!
My very first Airbnb experience and I could not have been happier. Beautiful property overlooking the Loch. Alison could not have been more helpful with great communication before I arrived. Lovely person and I would definitely recommend.
I regret that Alison was not there during my visit but she has been very kind and helpful from the moment I sent the first message till I left the room on the last day. Her cooking skills let certainly nothing to be desired. Such a lovely flat with a lot of personality. Very clean, pure peace and a dream view of Holy Loch! My short stay in Kilmun has been worthwhile and will stay in my mind.
Alison was extremely welcoming. The flat exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed our stay very much. The room was comfortable, bathroom was everything we needed and kitchen well stocked. The view was pretty stunning too. Great walks around the area too which added to our great experience.
I loved staying at Alison's cottage!! Itwas absolutely the perfect place for me to start my extended journey. Everything was as described, easy to access and comfortable. Alison made me feel like a welcome part of her home, and her friend Stuart was also helpful. The house had a fun, quirky style that I loved, the bath was amazing and the bed was hard to get out of in the morning. The view of the loch right out the bay window was breathtaking. It was cozy to sit in the main room while drinking tea and watch some of the working activity on the water. I also enjoyed my couple of visits with Alison's sweet pup, Basil. The surrounding neighborhood, and the nearby town called Dunoon, were charming and fun to drive through. I highly recommend hiking through Pucks Glen, as it's gorgeous and mysterious. The Benmore Botanical Gardens were lovely to stroll through. If you're around for enough time and enjoy driving through the country, Inver Cottage is a great place to stop for a truly gourmet lunch with great atmosphere; and the town of Inverary was also a nice drive. Though I've moved onward with my travels, I already miss Kilmun and am hopeful that I'll return someday, as this area was rich with my family history. The friendly, gracious hospitality was much appreciated. Thank you Alison!!!
