The Space

Enjoy gorgeous views and comfortable accommodations in our family cabin. Located at 9000 ft in the Colorado San Juans, bring 7 friends along. three double beds and one king in the master bedroom. We also have two twin (a roll-out and a foam pad) options for kids or adventurous adults.

Enjoy: Hiking, mountain biking, boating on Blue Mesa (rentals available), fishing on one of 3 private lakes. Winter fun includes skiing Crested Butte or Monarch (within 2 hours). Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiling

Wireless internet connection is available at the Inn at Arrowhead (about 1.7miles from the cabin). We suggest sitting on their deck with a nice beverage and using their guest sign in to check your emails etc...

Cell phone coverage is spotty at best. AT&T seems to work some, especially from the south west corner of the deck.... but hey aren't you looking forward to getting away from all that! We do have a land line at the cabin for safety.

  • Wow, what can I say? We had a great time staying here. The view was amazing, and the house was better than the pictures. I hate to tell everyone about this hidden little gem, because I'm afraid it will be booked all the time. I was uncertain about the location at first, but boy was I pleased. If you want secluded, beautiful, but the amenities of a modern home, then this is for you. If you want the action of a resort town, then maybe not. We had to go a ways to any towns, but it was well worth it. We like getting away from it all, so this was great! We fished at the lakes, caught numerous trout, hiked, layed in the hammock, saw numerous deer, including babies, also elk, chipmunks, groomer, and a visit from a bear. The local inn had great food, friendly management, and wifi. Our phones did not work here, but it was kind of nice. We all hated to leave this little part of paradise! We will definitely be back, and would recommend it to fellow Colorado lovers. The owner was easy to work with, and even left us fruit. Nice touch. I think this part of Colorado has yet to be discovered by the tourists, and we like that. Thanks for sharing this gem with us.

  • Lovely, quiet retreat in the mountains. Loved the tranquility and sense of peace. Easy access to 2 amazing state parks....Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Curecante, which are well worth exploring.
    The accomodations were very comfortable.
Beautiful views from the deck and lots of great hikes.

    Fully recommend this lovely spot!!

This is our family cabin. My father, a geologist and San Luis Valley Colorado native, bought the property in the early 80's and we, my three sisters, husbands and kids, have enjoyed great times through the years. We love hikes, painting, star gazing, mushroom hunting & fishing and we are a family that loves a good view. Our cabin was the first cabin built in the area, and the fantastic view was obviously the deciding factor! We love it and hope you will too!
