Come stay in our attic in our cute little bungalow built in 1917. We have done a lot of work to fix up the place, but will we ever be done? The attic has a twin bed and a full size futon. It is a private room with plenty of light and space. A door closes off the rest of our house, so it is quiet.
There is not a private entrance and the bathroom is shared. Feel free to share our kitchen, we have a juicer, food processor, and a microwave available. We'll have coffee and tea available as well.
This is a home full of life, we have 2 little girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats, plus 4 chickens. So we can sometimes be very busy.
We live across the street from Trader Joe's, near Reed College and Woodstock neighborhood. There is also a Starbucks and a Walgreens just 1 block away. Easy access to downtown by bus. A 5-10 min bus ride can take you to Hawthorne or Division St. shopping areas.
Our neighborhood is great for walking, close to Kenilworth, Creston and Woodstock parks and the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
You will use our front door to enter and walk through the house to the upstairs. Our bathroom is on the main floor and available to you anytime. The kitchen is available for you as well, please let us know if you plan to use it and we can accommodate you.
Interaction with Guests
We love to chat with our guests and learn a bit about you. If you'd like to keep to yourself that's fine too. Thought, sometimes we get busy and don't have time to talk as much as we'd like to.
Please no smoking. Though we love pets we aren't sure about hosting other animals but we aren't closed to the idea either. We also ask that you are quiet at night, and no additional guests without our consent.
Harmony greeted us warmly at the door. The room was truly "bright and cozy". We were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The neighborhood was great with easy access to TJs, restaurants and routes to all areas of Portland.
Harmony's place was perfect for what we needed for the night. I really appreciate your flexibility with our short stay, late night, and early morning. Great location next to a Trader Joe's and comfy beds. Thanks for making our first Airbnb experience a great one.
Harmony provided a great space is every bit as lovely as the photos and description posted make it out to be. If you're concerned about staying in a household with 2 young children and some pets, don't be. The home is quiet and everyone is polite, although Fez can be a little insistent if you have or appear to have any food on your person. Given that he's a dog I think he can hardly be faulted for this (and besides he's a really sweet little fellow). Since that's the only thing I could really find to complain about I hope it gives you good idea of how trouble free my time was there.
I was out and about during the majority of the day and due to the late schedule I was on I didn't get much of a chance to socialize with my hosts. That being said if you have the opportunity don't be shy as Harmony and Joe are both fun to talk to and really make the space feel welcome.
We only stayed at Harmony's place for one night, but she provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Her and her family were very sweet and made our time in Portland great. I would definitely stay here again!
I spend great time with Harmony's Family. Thank you so much for hosting me.
Great place for the price. I had everything I needed. Harmony was kind and welcoming. Thanks for the last minute booking!
I am a mom of two sweet energetic girls, now 9 and 6. I love cooking, shopping local, and having dance parties with my girls. I like to ride my bike and build my community. I am a graphic designer, my husband, Joe is an artist (oil painting). He also does some awesome carpentry and building. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 4 chickens, though they don't usually travel with us ;).
We love hosting and meeting new people, we're pretty laid back, but at times our family life gets busy.
We're just getting used to traveling as a family, we normally drive and stop a million times before we reach our destination.
