Come stay in our attic in our cute little bungalow built in 1917. We have done a lot of work to fix up the place, but will we ever be done? The attic has a twin bed and a full size futon. It is a private room with plenty of light and space. A door closes off the rest of our house, so it is quiet.
There is not a private entrance and the bathroom is shared. Feel free to share our kitchen, we have a juicer, food processor, and a microwave available. We'll have coffee and tea available as well.
This is a home full of life, we have 2 little girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats, plus 4 chickens. So we can sometimes be very busy.
We live across the street from Trader Joe's, near Reed College and Woodstock neighborhood. There is also a Starbucks and a Walgreens just 1 block away. Easy access to downtown by bus. A 5-10 min bus ride can take you to Hawthorne or Division St. shopping areas.
Our neighborhood is great for walking, close to Kenilworth, Creston and Woodstock parks and the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
You will use our front door to enter and walk through the house to the upstairs. Our bathroom is on the main floor and available to you anytime. The kitchen is available for you as well, please let us know if you plan to use it and we can accommodate you.
Interaction with Guests
We love to chat with our guests and learn a bit about you. If you'd like to keep to yourself that's fine too. Thought, sometimes we get busy and don't have time to talk as much as we'd like to.
Please no smoking. Though we love pets we aren't sure about hosting other animals but we aren't closed to the idea either. We also ask that you are quiet at night, and no additional guests without our consent.
This is one of my best experience. Joe and Harmony are helpful with everything, water, snacks, pillows, blankets, and etc. The girls are clever and adorable, ready to talk with people all the time. There is also a family of great pets here. I love the two dogs really much. The chickens and rabbit in the yard and the mild-tempered old cat Oscar are really fat. I hope to come back and pay a visit in the future.
Great location close to many Portland hot spots. Best for the adventurous traveler on a limited budget.
I had a lovely time staying with Harmony n her family when i was in portland. Harmony was rly helpful throughout, recommending places to go, taking the time to chat over coffee, lil things like this that added much warmth to our stay.. : ) The attic room was well sized n furnished, n is as described.. If u love dogs, ur in for a treat coz she has 2 super friendly n adorable dogs! All in all, we had a great time there, n we'd be back for morr!
This is the second time that I have stayed with this family and obviously I must like all the above if I have returned for seconds! It is very private even though downstairs has a real family air about it, which I happen to love along with the kids and the dogs. I will definitely go back again, that is if they will have me...I just might be too darn quiet for these folks :/)
Our stay with Harmony and her family was fantastic, and we appreciated the warm and laid-back atmosphere. We also valued the comfort of the attic, and the proximity to Trader Joe's. The spot served as a perfect place to relax and get a good night's rest!
What an awesome night in Portland. Wish I had more time to stay and get to know everyone better. Location was perfect. Harmony was very accommodating and gave me a tour immediately upon arrival. Would recommend to anyone!
Harmony was super friendly, wonderful host. I arrived late and she was still super flexible with my arrival time.
The place is roomier than the pictures suggest, and for visiting Portland, is of super great value. My first AirBnB experience - super great!
I am a mom of two sweet energetic girls, now 9 and 6. I love cooking, shopping local, and having dance parties with my girls. I like to ride my bike and build my community. I am a graphic designer, my husband, Joe is an artist (oil painting). He also does some awesome carpentry and building. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 4 chickens, though they don't usually travel with us ;).
We love hosting and meeting new people, we're pretty laid back, but at times our family life gets busy.
We're just getting used to traveling as a family, we normally drive and stop a million times before we reach our destination.
