The Space

Enjoy a country stay in your own Master Suite with attached full bath, comfy beds, sitting areas and small fridge for your snacks, foods, etc..
Continental breakfast most mornings and always coffee and teas!

This is a private suite in a private ranch home.

Full use of home's kitchen, living areas, decks, woods and walking trails on this 25 acre certified organic, working horse ranch.

We offer horseback riding, country carriage drives, walks and relaxation, local swimming and fishing. The ranch is quiet, serene, with wildlife including deer, turkeys and hawks... Avid bird-watching at Lake Solano 5 minutes away with day-use, creek-side trails, picnic area and canoe rentals.

In the California summers, mowing is severely restricted because of fire danger. Water supply for green lawns is scarce, so we use drought tolerant plantings and save the water for fruit and nut trees, horses and the humans!! We offer a beautiful environment from which to explore..... This is a beautiful, country setting-we co-exist with wild animals........ true magic! No freeways here!

We grow certified organic apricots, olive oil, grapes and walnuts, available for sale at the ranch.

Activities on the ranch include horseback riding and carriage driving tours, hillside walking trails, etc..

Room and horse packages available.. Bring your own horse..

The ranch is within a short drive (8 miles) to beautiful Lake Berryessa, 5 miles to local, hidden swimming holes or 18 miles for full Day Use areas- swimming, BBQ, boating and fishing; 5 minutes to Putah Creek and Lake Solano Park for cold plunges, canoeing, also great fly fishing near the Monticello Dam.

We are about 10 minutes from the small, healthy town of Winters - great restaurants, wine and cheese tasting, live music, art walks and shops, parks and old historical homes to see.

The ranch is about 1 hour to San Francisco, Napa wine areas, Sacramento...

Guest Access

Offer self-check-in if needed; Key available after arrival.....Sleep late, beautiful sunsets from large decks, big, full moons; forest trails, horseback riding and carriage driving; walking trails; shared kitchen w/small fridge in room..

Interaction with Guests

Depends upon the guest; I enjoy meeting so many different people and their quirks, talents, goals and dreams....
That said, it's very important that these guests have their private time too; sharing a home takes mutual respect and kindness..

The Neighborhood

Open space, large California hills, birds, orchards of walnuts, olives, apricots, citrus, horses; Tranquility...

Getting around

The ranch is 5 miles from Winters, a small, healthy country town...I've had bicyclists and motorcylists, and of course, folks with cars... oh yes, a truck with a boat!!

  • Hello,
I don't what is going on.
I sent email to claim my refund a few times but airbnb keeps sending me email asking feed back.
My feed back is my reservation had cancelled by the owner of the property Susan because of the smoky in that area caused by big fire, when can I get my refund? Please give me a email to confirm my reservation and refund my money. Thanks!

  • Susan is a great host and we had a nice July 4th weekend at this cozy place. It is neat and clean. Quite at the night. She gave us clear instruction to find the place and nice direction to winters town. We watched amazing firework at the night. Susan even prepared the breakfast for 6 of us in the morning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will recommend Susan's place to others.

  • Susan was a wonderful host. We loved the property. It was exactly what we wanted. Time in the country on ranch property with horses and dogs and plenty of room to wander off without leaving her land. The first thing I did was lay in the hammock and watch the birds in the branches of the huge walnut trees. It was quiet and peaceful and we happened to stay during the week she was harvesting her apricots - yum! She has her own olive oil for sale and we took home two bottles plus some apricots. I would love to come back again and stay longer.

  • The stay at Susan's was simply wonderful. Traveling from Yosemite, Susan's ranch is the perfect accommodation for a day trip in Napa or Soloma valley on the way to San Francisco. We spent only one night and the morning after we were so sad to live after chatting and having tested the wonderful apricots from Susan's farm. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to ride and enjoy Susan's gorgeous ranch. The room was comfortable, clean and so cute. And the price is very convenient compared to the other accommodations in Napa. I really suggest Susan's ranch for your trip in Napa.

  • Susan's ranch is basic but very relaxing. Really enjoyed our conversation and our first time riding horse for my whole family is wonderful.

  • We had an amazing time here with Susan. The room is clean, spacious and located at the end of the house, so ensures privacy with your own bathroom accessible straight off the room. There is also a small fridge in the room and we recommend a visit to the deli/market in town to stock up on goodies on your way through.
If you want bright lights and hotel amenities at your finger tips, or don't like the outside world, this isn't the place for you. If you want quiet, space and room to breathe then this is the perfect place. We live in the country and loved our time here. Susan made us feel really welcome and Frankie and Dawn helped too.
And I was lucky enough to go out for a ride with Susan and the lovely Miss Belle.
