Susan was great. She reached out ahead of time to make sure our arrival worked seamlessly and had the room ready. The room and home were very comfortable - and the food in the morning was appreciated and delicious even though we couldn't always take advantage due to our schedule.
Susan is also great to talk to. We didn't spend much time at her place because we were seeing family, but if you get time to talk to her she knows a ton about the area and has some great ideas for things to do during your stay.
The area is beautiful. It is country living, so there are a few spiders and some mud if it's rainy out, but the foothills are stunning no matter when one visits. Driving some of the roads is worth doing even if there is no destination. Winters is cute and has some good food/shopping, plus one can get to Vacaville or Davis or Sacramento for other shopping within an hour. There's plenty of other stuff to do - Winters has a new brewery and winery to enjoy plus it's close to Napa.
Everything one could ask for.
Susan made us feel welcome even though she wasn't able to get home until fairly late. She made sure we had everything we needed to get in and get comfortable. We had a nice conversation with her when she got home, and she was really sweet with our kids.
Susan's ranch is great. The private suite was comfy and full of extras like games and sweets. my partner and his son and i had a really nice evening there. the ranch itself is so wonderful. Susan is really interested in providing education about horses and hers are gorgeous and love attention. I grew up with my grandfather's ranch and it was so delightful to relive some of my childhood at her place. oh yeah and really good continental breakfast. we will go back, for sure!
The Ranch stay was lovely and very relaxing. Found in the countryside in the rolling hills west of Winters - a historic old town. You get a large room which is quiet and relaxing, you also get your own en-suite shower room. Susan was a lovely host who made sure we felt at home and respected our privacy too. It was great talking with her about the local area and horses - we can also recommend taking a short horse ride with Susan. Her horses are excellently trained and you get to see a little of the local area. Susan offered recommendations for things to do in the local are and places to eat in town. Her dogs are adorable and very friendly. Me and my girlfriend had a great stay with her.
We loved staying at Susan's ranch!! What a beautiful location! Susan took us on a tour of her ranch and we loved meeting all the horses! The next day we took a short hike on her property and checked out downtown Winters at night (such a cute town - I definitely recommend a show at The Palms!) Our room was comfortable and clean. Susan was a great host - so personable and great to talk with! We would definitely stay there again!
I enjoyed my early-morning walk around the property including looking at the horses, buggies the trailers and other assorted farm stuff. Be sure and ask Susan to make sure you have good water pressure before you're ready to take a shower.
I'd like to apologize to John and sweetheart! I had several irrigation systems running apparently that night, and once I figured out the pressure at the house was weak, I walked the ranch and turned off all valves. The problem was the this couple had tried to shower in the evening before I realized there was a problem at the house.
The next morning, all tanks had filled and there was plenty of water available...
Amazing location for the opportunity to get right into the nature of Northern Califor . A working ranch, but comfortable and very very quiet.
