Arctic Dome Valdres is located just by Jotunheimen's entrance gate in Vang in Valdres - 1150 m above sea level. A unique accommodation option where a little bit of luxury and comfort meets you with nature close by.
The dome is located in a private mountain area and has a very spectacular nature and views around it. Here everything is set for a memorable experience!
There is also a sauna up there. Hot shower and cold shower are also installed!
Welcome to the mountains
The space
From E16 it takes about 15 minutes to drive up to Domen. The road up is a typical mountain road that stretches from 500 masl to 1150 masl where we would recommend that you have a car that is not too low, but a little high underneath. The road is a bit steep in a few places, but this is rarely a problem among our guests, but something we think is good to inform about. If you want us to drive you up, we can of course do this, but this must be agreed upon in advance.
Domen has two beds with a large double bed. Duvets and pillows are also there, but you have to bring your own bed linen.
Domen also has a dining table with two chairs and a small cozy corner with two sleeping bags. Domen is also equipped with a gas stove that heats well. There are also lamps that run on solar cells as well as several battery-powered cube lights. There are also opportunities to charge your mobile phone on the solar power system.
Next to Domen we have built a small kitchen. Inside the kitchen there is all the equipment you need to make good food. This consists of a gas stove, gas refrigerator, sink, countertop and all the cutlery, plates and glasses you may need.
There is no running water in the kitchen, but there will be water containers with water you can use.
Domen itself is located on a large plot with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. Here you can enjoy the view on nice days. There is also outdoor lighting on the plot.
About 50 m from Domen there is an outhouse (with a view!).
No animals are allowed inside Domen. This is due to allergies. If you want to bring a dog, it must therefore be outside.
Around Domen you can often see both sheep and reindeer wandering around in the mountains. There are also several different fishing waters within walking distance from Domen where it is possible to fish. Some of the waters require a fishing license, but we can help you with this. Since the mountain area is private, there are no marked trails, but the hiking opportunities are endless.
Most people have given feedback after spending a night, or more, in Domen that it has been a wonderful and memorable experience. This is not a hectic cabin area and the resting heart rate will be reported pretty quickly when you get up there.

Domen is located in the mountain village of Vang municipality. Other well-known places that are possible to drive to are Filefjell, Tyin and Eidsbugarden where the hiking opportunities are endless. The area around Domen is untouched with several different mountain peaks you can visit. One of the most famous is Hødntind which is written on the map you find in Domen in the information booklet. Kongevegen over Filefjell is also possible to visit where it stretches over the village just below the mountain area you are in.

In the house you will find an information booklet with everything you need to know. Including information about things you need to do before you leave Domen as well as a map of the hiking area and fishing waters in the mountains around you.
