Beautiful, 16th century palace in the heart of historical Palermo.
Private room, private restroom with bathtub, balcony with a view on the old Piazza San Francesco D'Assisi and its ancient church, and a big, charming and quiet terrace.
Internet wi-fi; cable TV.
Fourth floor, no elevator, but enchanting and shallow, not tiring, old and noble staircase (please note: restoration works have just started and the center of staircase is currently occupied with a safety metal structure. This does not mean that the beauty of the palace is not visible).
Train station and port at walking distance. Easy to reach. Close to the buzz of local street life and the most important monuments, parks, theaters, museums, street food, and beauties of the city.
Plenty of choices in the vibrant area: bars, restaurants, open-air markets, shops, and supermarkets.
The room has ancient Sicilian majolicas on the floor, and a vaulted ceiling, provided with fan. Minimally furnished. Full of light. Large, fresh and comfortable.
Cat in the house.
Towels and bed linen provided.
Kitchen and living room are shared with us.
Interaction with Guests
Interaction with guests depends on when we are working and on the amount of time they spend at home. There are guests we rarely see and others we hang out with and became good friends. Everyone is different!
You'll be in the historical center of the city. No car needed in one of the most traffic-congested cities in the world!
Use your own feet as the main means of transportation!
Very well connected with public transportation (city buses, trains, cabs).
Other Things to Note
Palermo is a very lively city. In the summer (if sleeping with windows open) this could result in some noises coming from the street and bars downstairs.
Basic house-sharing rules:
Be clean, quite and respectful.
Be eco-friendly and careful on the usage of utilities without wasting it so please, remember to switch off the lights and the fan/heating when you go out.
Check that the principal door is closed when you leave the house or before you go to sleep!
Please do not take the room key around the city with you.
We love animals but can't accept them since a cat is already living in the house.
You can use laundry with a symbolic fee of Euro 5 p/laundry.
You can smoke on the balcony or near the window!
Occasionally, the terrace is shared with other guests.
Basic breakfast is provided. Please help yourself, at the time you like.
Accueil très sympathique dans un ancien palais plein de charme idéalement situé pour découvrir le centre historique de Palerme à pied.
Pascal et Gilles.
The terrace is a peaceful haven above the busy streets, in an old building full of character and history. It is ideally situated for exploring Palermo. Bruno and Tiziana are lovely people and very helpful accommodating hosts.
Sehr gastfreundliches Gastgeberpaar.
Unterkunft liegt in einem Palazzo in der Altstadt von Palermo. Top-Lage, um alles in der Sltstadt zu Guss zu erkunden.
The place to be if you want a truly Sicilian beautiful place where to stay. Amazing terrace, gorgeous house cat and two lovely hosts!
I am completely in love with Tiziana, Bruno and their cat Tao. They made me feel so welcome and relaxed in their beautiful home (which is a Palermitan palace!) The appartment is ideally placed, being approx 15 mins walk from all the tourist sites. For neighbours it has the Bar Garibaldi, the coolest place in Palermo to hang out, full of intellectuals who are super-friendly, and Antica Foccaceria di San Francesco, the best restaurant in Palermo for breakfast lunch and supper...and dirt cheap too! Tiziana and Bruno are happy to include you in their social circle, are quite happy if you wanna watch TV with them in yr nightie, and are completely happy for you to keep to yrself and not see them at all. It really was a pleasure to stay in their beautiful home and I am really gonna miss them...they are beautiful people...ps the downside of having that beautiful terrace is that they are on the fourth floor. I have M.E. (chronic fatigue), yet I managed it
just fine by taking my time..I guess if you have heart probs you might struggle, but I can thoroughly recommend it as the best place to stay in Palermo. Thanks to Tiziana and Bruno for opening their lives to me xxx
