Michael is a very communicative host and willing to help with anything. The location is great, but if you have an aversion to stairs, this is a victorian house with many stairs.
The bathroom floors and floor towel were not cleaned, as well as the kitchen appliances and surfaces being dirty. There was a full dishwasher of dishes, that I had to run again as they weren't clean, which after 12 hour working days, wasn't the most fun. Parts of the kitchen were falling apart as well as the dishwasher almost falling out of the wall. I felt like I was staying at a friends house and not paying for an Airbnb experience. I've been using Airbnb for 3 years as a guest and it was an unfortunate stay for work trip, even though Michael is a very nice guy.
We liked Michael's apartment location, near beautiful Dolores Park, Castro and Missions areas with many nice restaurants.
Michael leaves his own place when the apartment is rented, so it is quite a personal place without a closet to hang our clothes, far from an hotel room.
Michael gave us useful advices for restaurants in the area and replyed our emails verypromply.
Michael was amazingly helpful. I was literally on the BART heading to the city, not knowing where I'd stay. A bunch of messages to hosts later, Michael was ready to accommodate my last minute reservation. The apartment matches the description, PERFECT location (especially for gay pride festivities, which I was there for). Dolores park was right outside the door, and was tons of (website hidden)-rite market was two blocks away and completely amazing produce, meats, etc. KILLER views of the city. Very comfortable place, nicely stocked kitchen. He even left tons of organic fruit for me to eat. Totally great. Thanks, Michael!
My only point of info to potential guests would be to bring some sort of eye mask if you're not an early riser. Morning sun galore!
A wonderful apartment, in a charming part of town. I only wish I had more time to enjoy it and did not work as much as I did.
The location of this apartment was perfect for me. Dolores Park is like a festival when the sun is shining. Valencia and Mission both have tons of restaurants, cafes and bars. Castro is walking distance as well. There is a light rail station right on the corner of dolores park, and the BART is just a few blocks away as well. There was no need for a car here, actually with parking being tough, i would avoid a car. All in all a perfect location. The fireplace was the icing on the cake! There are palm leaves in the park that make for the perfect kindling. Michael met us at the apt, gave us the keys and made himself available should we have any additional questions or needs.
Would definitely stay there again. Very nice apartment on a high floor with lots of light.
I had a great stay at Michael's place. It is a nice Victorian apartment which is right at the upper corner of Dolores Park. If you haven't heard of Dolores Park of San Francisco, you have to checked it out. I have lived in the bay area for seven years and Dolores Park is arguably the more beautiful park in the San Francisco Bay Area, and you can get the view of the part directly from your living room and bed room from this apartment! The apartment is very spacious so you have a lot of room for yourself. The neighborhood is safe and quite. However, it is only one block from the J Line which takes you right to downtown and it is several blocks from the most hip area of the mission, which is a neighbor that's very popular among young people and there are a lot of nice restaurants and bars. I wish this was my own apartment :)
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
