The space
Clean and cozy cabin with with great views and large deck overlooking the lake. Cedar outdoor sauna and awesome game room. 3 bedrooms+ comfortable pull out couch in the game room. 1 full bathroom+ seasonal outhouse. Seasonal outdoor shower to rinse off after playing in the lake. Fire pit by the lake. Indoor fireplace available in the cooler seasons.
SO MUCH TO DO: kayak, canoe, boat, swim, catch fish, hike, snowshoe, ski, sauna, or just relax on the large deck off of the kitchen or the covered concrete patio in the yard. Pontoon rentals available on select dates with advance notice only. Pontoon not on site at all times.
Kitchen is stocked with much more than just basics plus crockpot, pizza oven, coffee pot, some spices, and more. Very comfortable recliners and couch in living room. Lots of additional space in the game room. Plenty of towels, soft linens, comfy beds and pillows. We often have body wash and other extras.
This is a birdwatcher's paradise, and there is only one other cabin on the lake. Several Trumpeter Swans live on the lake, and eagles, hawks, and owls frequent the large white pines in the yard.
You will love the huge yard with plenty of furniture, firepit, and grill. Bring your own firewood and charcoal, or sometimes we can provide it with enough notice and for a nominal fee. We keep a large area by the dock clean and weed free for swimming, and the water is crystal clear. We have 2 kayaks, a canoe, various lake and yard toys, and some life jackets etc. Bigger boats can be put in at the end of the driveway near the road. We have a fishing row boat. Wetlands across the lake are gorgeous in the summer and fall.
Tons of toys, games, movies for rainy days. Games and lake toys subject to change. There is an outdoor sauna by the lake for a small fee. Near hunting forest, Gandy Dancer and other hiking trails are near the house.
***PLEASE NOTE: The game room is adjacent to the cabin entry door, just a couple steps away. It is heated with a pellet stove and space heaters in the winter and has AC in the summer. It may get chilly at night in the coldest winter temperatures unless you use the pellet stove.
The sauna is the tan building between the cabin and the lake, adjacent to the patio.
Bunk beds have a 100 lb weight limit, larger groups please review sleeping arrangements and plan to use outhouse and outdoor shower
Guest access
Cell service is spotty on the road, so be sure to have directions and GPS loaded before coming or leaving. Cell service improves and WiFi works great once at the house. CIrcle drive behind house, but please do not tear up the lawn if it is wet.
Other things to note
Please note, there is a flight of stairs from the cabin and game room down to the lake and the sauna.
Security cameras on exterior of premises to ensure safety, but not in living areas. May be reviewed to verify number of guests and pets on property.
Pets okay with prior approval and pet fee of $30 each.
Lake and game room toys are subject to change as we add things and, on rare occasions, things break.
Regarding snow removal: we have a plow service that comes shortly after it finishes snowing. We do our best to keep it clear for you, but Minnesota winters can be tricky. Thanks for understanding. Be careful, embrace it and enjoy!
Regarding lawn mowing, we try to mow in between guests but sometimes this isn't possible. If this poses an issue, let me know and we will change the schedule around you.
Regarding heat in the game room: We provide a hopper of fuel for guests for their stay. This is enough to keep the room comfortable if used in conjunction with the space heaters as directed. Please note for sleeping that temperatures may fluctuate in the game room at night when temperatures are extremely low.
