About This Listing
If you need a QUIET, AFFORDABLE, CLEAN and COMFORTABLE place to stay, with easy access to public transportation, and an experienced host, this room will be perfect for you. LONG TERM GUESTS WELCOME (few months, not a problem!)
For short-term summer guests, this room is great because it is quiet, clean and affordable so you can do your Boston sightseeing during the day and sleep in a clean and quiet place.
For long-term guests, this is perfect for someone who is: Quiet, Mind their own business, Respectful, Clean, and Busy with studies/work. The room is perfect for someone who is gone during the day to work or school and comes home at night.
This room is located in a safe student/young professionals/young families area of Boston with many (affordable and fulfilling!) restaurants, 24-hour supermarket, and very good public transport network.
It is located on the 2nd floor of a house. There is another room which will be occupied by another AirBnb guest, who needs to meet the same requirements: Quiet, Mind their own business, Respectful, Clean, and Busy with studies/work. So that whoever is living in the house, everyone has their own personal space.
I have hosted people from many countries over the past few years - USA, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Columbia, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, Singapore, Austria, Croatia, and more. I have lived in Boston for almost a decade now and can give you good guidance to make you feel comfortable here. I enjoy traveling, and everything adventurous. Staying with me, you will learn new things about the city.
I prefer people who don't cook (much), just light meals or eat outside (many affordable and delicious places to eat 2mins away from the house).
Small lovely chihuahua dog lives here, so you must be a dog-lover.
You will have access to the bathrooms: Full shared bathroom on the 2nd floor, half bathroom on the first floor, the kitchen to prepare light meals, the dining room to sit and eat, and high-speed WIFI internet.
Sorry, but the living room is off limits to guests for personal reasons.
Interaction with Guests
Everyone in the house should be: Quiet, clean, busy with work/study, minds their own business when they are at home, goes home and spends time in their room, don't hang around the dining room besides when eating. At our age, when we come back from a long day, I believe everyone wants peace and quiet.
I will be available to answer any questions you have and give you guidance, anytime. And if we are not busy and are up to a cup of tea and chit-chat, we can do that!
The neighborhood is fun, lively, and also quiet (we live on a quiet street next to the park). It is a safe place in Boston, even at night.
This area consists of mainly students, graduate students, PhD students, and young professionals. There are about 100 places to eat around here, you can find many cuisines and places to eat, also there are many pubs, bars, a HUGE SUPERMARKET which is open NONSTOP is 5 minutes away by bus!
Bus 57 takes you straight to BU in a few minutes.
Bus 66 takes you to Harvard in 12 minutes.
Bus 64 takes you to Northeastern in 20 minutes.
Metro takes you to downtown in 25 -30 minutes. (it is very close but because Boston's public transport system is the oldest in the country, it seems a little slow)
It is easy to get to main road and highway (Storrow Drive and I-90), only 10 minutes by car to downtown Boston. Backbay's shopping center (the heart of Boston) - Prudential, Copley, Newbury Street, is only 20 mins by metro. RED SOX Fenway Park is only 10 minutes by metro.
Other Things to Note
The rent includes all utilities. YES THERE IS HIGH SPEED WI-FI included.
For long-term guests, if you wonder what to bring:
- anything that helps you feel "home" (such as your own blanket, your own pillow, your own cup, etc.) even though sheets, blankets, and pillows are provided by me
- your own hygienic things (shampoo, body wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.), buy your own laundry detergent, toilet paper, and whatever you need for your personal use (razor for shaving, tissues, hand towels...)
The room is disinfected, cleaned completely, and comes with clean bedsheets and a clean towel upon check-in, always. As a long-term guest, you will participate in weekly cleaning (we will rotate every week) but don't worry, the house is always clean, so it will be very easy cleaning! :)
1. No guests/no overnight guests. (However, if you stay long-term and have a girlfriend/boyfriend come visit for short-term, we can arrange).
2. Please do not abuse the utilities - turn off the lights, take quick showers.
3. Clean up after yourself (dishes, trash, etc.) Disinfect all surfaces, stovetop, dining table, and around the sink after each use.
4. Please, no smoking in the house and no walking with shoes on in the house (take off your shoes in the hallway). - Bring some slippers.
5. Laundromat is 2 minutes walk down the street and I believe it is $5 per load wash and dry. I have my own washer and dryer, for your convenience you can use mine every 2 weeks.
6. Living room is off limits to guests for personal reasons.
7. Please no drinking in common areas. There are many cheap bars around here so if you every feel like having a few drinks, you can explore the bars nearby, or you can have a beer in your room.
THANK YOU! :D
As all the others reviews say, she is an incredible host. Texted me 2 days before asking what time id get there, in the day i got there she always wanted to make sure everything was according to the plans. when I actually got in her place, was introduced to the entire place, it all looked like new, really well organized, she is really neat, really friendly and warm. the room is exactly (or even better) as the picture. I had had only 7 hrs of sleep in the past 50 hours. so i all i wanted was a bed, with clean sheets and comfortable. What she had was exactly that. I slept for... 12 hours I think. Was really what I needed. In the other day i went to explore Boston, again she texted me asking if it was all good etc. when i got home we kept talking about random things, she is rly kind :D
about the facilities, bathroom perfect (sink was not working when i got there, so i needed to use downstairs, but the next morning the guy went there and fixed). bathroom was the cleanest ive seen in any airbnb place ive been. also was smelling good. she has a dog which i didnt even see, actually (stayed for 2 days). the dog kept in her room all the time, i think. for me wouldn't be a problem, i dont mind dogs, but even if you do, i dont think this is a problem.
oh! she also explained me all about how to go to the places i wanted to go, how to get back home using train or bus. btw, it's really close to the stops, 1min walking to a laundry place, 2min walking to a BK and other FF places...
if i ever come back to boston i dont even need to search for another place, this is where im staying (if possible lol). Totally recommend.
Thank you for such a great first airbnb stay! Clean, convenient and great housemates! Wonderful place and if I need a place again or know someone looking, I won't hesitate to let you know! Thank you Tia!!
Tia was very communicative, friendly and welcoming. She provided me with a few options for transportations to her place from the airport, which was very helpful. I told her I will be arriving late and that was not a problem. She stayed up and waited for me until I arrived. She gave a lot of infos about what her neighborhood has to offer. I found some great restaurants to eat 2 blocks away. A trip to Harvard is 10-15 mins away by bus. Green line is 2 blocks away. There were ATM's, CVS and Walgreens nearby. The area is quiet. The room was exactly as the picture showed. Tia and I had a very nice chat. She was always willing to help with whatever you need. Highly recommended!
I had a wonderful few days in Boston, and a great part of it was because of Tia. Communication was very easy and she was very helpful. She gave me really good advices on places to eat, things to do and which buses or trains to take. She is very friendly but she will respect your privacy if you'd like. The room was perfect! It was cozy and had everything you would need, clean bed sheets, a small closet with lots of hangers and even a little tourism book of Boston. While it is a little far from downtown (around 30 min by train), public transportation is very good and there are lots of things to do in the neighborhood and a ton of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Allston is a great area, lots of students and very safe, even late at night.
Bottom line: if I ever go back to Boston, that's where I'm staying!
It was literally amazing!!! How come tia so kind and awesome!!
She was always tried to be keeping communicating with me. Actually I arrived in Boston at 6:00 am, so I asked her whether I can check in so early. She was kindly accepting my request, so thankfully I was not shuddered cold outside.
The room was also awesome. Really cozy and neat. And there were lots of hanger being able to keep our clothes neatly.
If I had not chosen this host, then my trip in Boston would have not been enjoyable so much. Thank you!!
I stayed with Tia for a full semester this year and she was an excellent host. On my first day, Tia was still moving into this house and managed to do all of the moving and decorating within two days; I still have no idea how she managed to do that with only two other people considering the size of the house. Tia and her brother, Martin, were extremely helpful throughout my stay with any problems I might have had (including when I sprained my ankle and Martin very generously picked me up at the hospital).
If you're not familiar with the Boston neighborhoods, Allston is where many college students rent apartments and it's full of restaurants of all kinds, bars, and very close to both Boston University and Cambridge.
So basically, if you want great roommates in a neighborhood where you will never run out of food and drink options, stay at Tia's!
Also... It's a 3 minute walk to the T and a 1 minute walk to the bus stop, so you won't have to bear the cold for long.
Tia was a great host ! I enjoyed a lot staying in Allston with her. Her place was nice, clean and she was very present and helpful. Tia is a very kind person, responsible and always ready to show you around ! You will definitely enjoy your stay with her.
Greatly recommended !
