This year round mountain cabin retreat in Pine, AZ is located
about 110 miles north of Phoenix, where the Mogollon Rim, tall pine trees and cool mountain creeks come together. Pine is a small quaint and often quite rustic village, it's the perfect place to pull up the draw bridge for an authentic
western mountain experience.
Our Cabin is called "Greenwood Cabin" and is about 1100 sq ft, complete with 2 bed rooms, cathedral ceilings, and
sky lights, a Scandinavian wood stove, full kitchen, full bath and great outdoor space.
We have WI-FI and super fast internet, flat screen TV with a blu ray and unlimited Net Flix and a DVD collection for your viewing pleasure. There is no phone and be warned it's super quiet. Often the sound of a pine cone falling on the roof will be all you hear. We think you will enjoy our "home away from home" it's relaxing, manageable and somewhat secluded
from the outside world.
We have the visitor from time to time, Matilda a wild white tail deer comes a calling looking for a carrot, also there are Javelinas, rabbits, and lots of beautiful birds to see.\r\n\r\nIf you are in need of people there are a couple of pubs, diners and thrift stores within a good walk, be warned it's all downhill. Our village of Pine, AZ is located about 15 miles NW of Payson, AZ a much larger town of 25,000+ where there are more eateries, golfing, shopping... Yes, a Wal-Mart and of course a Casino with lots of penny machines.
The cabin is complete with everything you might need for a
short or extended stay. There is plenty of basic spices, pots and pans and even a dishwasher. Both bedrooms have queen beds and the appropriate linens and lots of towels. The hot water is plentiful as well as the mountain air.
You won't be disappointed with this cabin, but be warned it's hard to see from the road, or that might be a good thing
This is our weekend getaway, "Greenwood Cabin" it is quiet, clean and quaint. A full service kitchen and large couch for the 5th person, WI FI and Blu-Ray - TV..

Unpretentious but very pretty cabin stocked with ample firewood and other supplies for a comfortable stay. Very quiet location but only a short drive from all of the stores and restaurants in Pine. What we went there for was the hiking, and this cabin was very well situated for all of the day hikes we did in the Mogollon Rim area.
Pat and Dave, thanks for opening up your cabin to us!
The cabin was completely perfect for a family trip to the woods. There was a hiking trail that went right next to the cabin that was a practically a private trail to the Tonto National Forest! The hosts came and helped us get a fire going in the woodstove inside that kept the entire cabin warm. My grandma was able to stay warm and cozy. There was lots of cooking utensils and spices, making it easy for us to cook all our own meals with plenty of space for storage. There were also private heaters in the bedrooms and a great heater to keep on at night when the fire could no longer be attended.
One morning it even snowed some and my son ran around making snow angels on the deck. There were amenities we didn't even use. The neighborhood was extremely quiet and although there are other cabins nearby we felt like we were the only ones. We visited Pine and Strawberry and found a couple nearby hiking trails. Dogs were even welcome here and had plenty of space to run around. Best moment was when three white-tailed deer were right by the open living room window. So beautiful out there! I cannot wait to come back.
It was wonderful Christmas holidays in Pine Arizona, very charming and worm cabin with fire place that keep cozy atmosphere in snow weather. Nice, hot shower plenty of kitchen suppliers. We made short trips to Sedona, Grand Canyon and Antelope canyons, but Pine has also very nice hiking trails witch start right from the place. Thanks’ Dave and Pat .
This was my second time staying at the cabin. It's so easy to relax and feel at home here. The open floor plan makes everyone staying here feel together if you are cooking, eating or watching television, and the deck is right outside the great room. I wish I was able to visit more often!
Thanks again Pat & Dave for beautiful weekend stay in your home. We went to the tonto national bridge park for a hike and it was breath taking place love it...
Directions to cabin were excellent. House rules & procedures were simple and easy to comply with.
Listing was more-or-less as expected.
The neighborhood is very good, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing.
Thank You for your very public comments, as an avid user of AirBnB you can appreciate the number of messages (text and email) I made to you during your stay and before to ensure it was meeting your expectations. I am very disappointed that firstly; you never said anything to me on arrival, or after the first few days when I contacted you personally. Secondly, I did speak to our very loyal housekeeper who apologized but had no recollection of the vac being left in the middle of the floor. As for the cobwebs they are a constant battle during the rainy season, as is the hard water stains. Chris and Jessica assures me that more attention to details will be done.
For future stays for you with AirBnB, when you are given the opportunity from the host to ensure your satisfaction and happiness, I would take it. Solving any problem early on makes life so much easier. On another note, the floor lamp that was broken during your stay could not replaced as it was vintage, no worries.. Things happen. If you choose to book again, we will always honor your requests and throw a discount in. Happy trails to you and your wife. Dave & Pat
The cabin was very comfortable and the porch was nice with lots of chairs, lounges and a couch with pine trees all around. Even though the weather was quite hot, it was nice inside with ceiling fans in every room. It was perfect for friends to get together and cook and talk and just hang out. The kitchen had everything we needed. All in all a great place to have a quiet, private weekend with friends.

We are misplaced New Englanders living in "the Valley of The Sun." Arizona is our home for the past 8 years and we love the weather.. after all it's a dry heat. Arizona is such a great place to live, we have a beautiful home here in the city (Phoenix) and a mountain retreat upon the Mogollon Rim in Pine, AZ. It's at 6,000 feet elevation, give or take a few and only 110 miles away and about 30 degrees cooler.
We have a great time , we are world travelers and our new goal is to go completly around the world on a ship.. not all at once-since we have to work for a living. Our goal is to stay put on retirement day and rock on the porch enjoying the mountain air.. RIGHT... not. We will be off on another adventure the day after the social security hits the automatic deposit. There will be no looking back.
We have three dogs, Maggie, Mini & Max and a cat called Mona- who actually thinks she's a dog. Our homes is warm, friendly and inviting.. We are great cooks, hosts and enjoy the occasional happy hour. Our professions are completely different from each other, one is a free-lance travel writer, social columnist and non- profit creative strategist and the other the aero space industry.. ummm guess that what makes it work.
We will be offering our Moutain retreat in Pine for rental and in October 2012, our guest suite (off the pool) for nightly rentals.. Time to get busy.
