We are a multi-cultural apt in the heart of Basel, Lucy (Kenyan), Greg (English)
and his wife Karo (Brazilian) and Kingsley (Nigerian) and are ready to welcome you to our warm apartment. Experience Swiss and other cultures. Karibu/Welcome
This is our 2nd huge bedroom (24m2) at our Multi-Cultural Apt in the heart of Basel that can take 4 people.
It is bright, well furnished, with a studying table and the access to the balcony. It has 2 double beds. It has an awesome view of the city and the Black Forest, although its under renovation and the scaffold is a bit of a hindrance.
The guests are allowed to access the whole apartment apart from private bedrooms. There is a balcony and one is allowed to boil water for tea or use the coffee machine but not to cook food.
Interaction with Guests
Since I am self-employed, I do take time to chat with my guests or even go out for a drink together and advice them about "the must sees" in Basel
We live in a very quiet area here.
There is loads of public transport, trams, buses, and the train station nearby.
Other Things to Note
Pls let me know your arrival time in advance for me to organise the key handing.
Just leave the house as clean as you found it. Welcome and feel at home.
Lucy was a great host! She was so welcoming and very accommodating. She even dropped us off at the stadium so that we would not have to walk too far and made us coffee in the morning. The apartment itself is in a great location- quiet area and only about a ten minute walk from the train station. I would definitely stay here again, thanks Lucy!!
Immediately after arriving at the location, my guests and I chose to leave.
We were unaware that there were tenants residing in the apt which made it uncomfortable because they had to get up for work the next day and we didnt want to disturb them even though Lucy, the Host, told us to do as we wished. The bedroom was not as pictured and was actually Lucys bedroom with pictures of her all over the wall and our beds were not beds but the couches that the back can lay flat and turn into a bed, with additional padding. The main bedroom door had a lock but there was also an entrance from the dining room that was unable to be secured. The setup/room just wasnt for us. We didnt expect to have the amenities of a hotel but we didnt expect to feel as if we were sleeping in the bed of some random person either. The room felt like we were in Lucy's bedroom and we haven't experienced that in previous Bed and Breakfast stays. I am not stating in was horrible, it just wasnt the right fit for my group
In regards to the host, she was very nice and was willing to give us some info about the area. She also accomadated a fifth person who had was added unexpectedly at the last minute.
We booked for three nights and cancelled the first day. Its been two weeks and I am still waiting to get an answer back regarding my refund for the third night. This is the only portion of this experience that I would truly rate negatively because it should not take this long.
Lucy was a wonderful host! She made me feel at very home and left me breakfast every morning. The space is cozy with a serene view from the window. Highly recommended.
Lucy is a lively and accommodating person. She even bought special things for breakfast to adjust to my weird eating habits :-)
The apartment as well as the rooms are spacious and clean. I would recommend this place!
Lucy is very kind and open host
and creates a nice atmosphere
it was a big pleasure to stay in her house
the house is in a very sympathic and quite place near the park
The room is not far from baselworld, and there is a park nearby so you can enjoy the beautiful view
