An excellent accommodation with a great location near Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur. The hosts were very friendly. We meet both of them, Pete showed us around, and they even put fresh coffee outside our door every morning! The yurt is huge, with a comfy bed and couches. There are lots of fun little amenities (projector, bocce ball set, etc.) and a mini fridge and microwave. The deck was nice, and the attached hot tub was clean and we'll kept. The one and only drawback was that the bathroom was across the small yard in the main house, which the hosts made abundantly clear in their description. But there is a private sitting area and bathroom right in the front door. A great value for a unique living arrangement. It's a freaking yurt!

Amazing place and hosts! We stayed here as part of a three week family road trip through California with our 2 hard to please tweens. We are still on the trip at the time of writing this review otherwise would probably be a longer review full of even more praise! We loved the yurt and the location and only wish we could have spent more than 1 night there. The special touches were just magic and appreciated by the whole family. We arrived shattered and through entirely MY fault had an issue finding it (I had forgotten to print out Peg and Petes brilliant instructions). Despite this, they were patient and wonderful with us and the yurt provided the ideal respite after a busy few days of hiking and driving. Chilling out in the hot tub with the kids, before all settling in to watch one of the provided movies on the MASSIVE projecter screen was wonderful. Falling to sleep to the sounds of the chirruping crickets and babbling river meant for a great night's rest even in record breaking heat for the area. We ate breakfast and enjoyed the tea provided on the deck in the morning whilst the kids enjoyed the hammock. Cannot thank Peg and Pete enough for being such great hosts and letting us stay there. Would highly recommend.

This is hands down, one of the best Airbnb experiences I have ever had! We absolutely loved our stay here! Pete and Peg are amazing & sweet hosts -- and the yurt is everything we hoped for. We enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub, watching a movie on the projector, listening to nature, and sipping coffee on the great porch. Stay here if you have the chance!!!

This was such a unique and lovely stay. The yurt was more than what we had expected and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I will miss the peaceful mornings having coffee outside the yurt! All of Pete's restaurant recommendations around Carmel were spot on too!

We had a lovely stay in the yurt. It is very clean and tidy, spacious and well equipped with great attention to detail. Peg and Pete are very welcoming and hospitable but also leave you to relax and enjoy and have your own space. Would love to stay again.

Pete User ProfilePete is a superhost.

My wife, Peggy, and I have lived on this property since 1984 and have never fallen out of love with it. It is the perfect combination of a rural setting yet only 10 minutes away from town. We are outdoor enthusiasts and have many wonderful family memories of not only camping by the river but of backcountry excursions as well. It was on one of these adventures, in Oregon to be exact, that Peg and our two daughters discovered yurts. They rented one at an Oregon State campground and truly loved the experience. Having a yurt on our property has added even more of a sense of serenity and peace to our home. It is with this in mind that we want to share it with others. There's something uniquely appealing and comforting, a feeling of being embraced by the round space and the abundance of natural light that
lends itself to living close to nature. We welcome you to give it a try.
