  • Nadine was a wonderful host! The place is kept very clean, the staff are all very professional and kind, and I personally loved the location. Greenpoint is a fun, safe neighborhood in Brooklyn. The loft is close by to the G line, and for my commute to Midtown it was totally reasonable (30-45 min). I would recommend this loft to those who are open-minded and comfortable sharing their space - as the loft has a very "open" feel and if you stay there for multiple months you will likely have many different roommates come in and out. This wasn't a problem for me, but it's not for everyone. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Nadine and the lofts. If you're looking to experience a different side of NYC check it out!

  • Had a great time at Nadine's place, she and Terence were always helpful with things, and really really helped me integrate with the group of housemates in other lofts! Thanks for a wonderful stay, guys!

  • When you arrive at Freeman Street and there's simply the address written on the door and not much else happening you'd be forgiven for thinking you're in the wrong place, made a terrible mistake and that yes, you should have just overspent the money on a tourist hotel room in Times Square like your friends advised you. Then Nadine, with her beautiful, welcoming smile opens the door and leads you into one of the best, solo travel trips I've ever had.

If you're up for stepping out your comfort zone Greenpoint is a clever move and I encourage you to just get on with booking a room here so you can channel all your energy on planning what you're actually going to do during your trip. The Loft is four short blocks from the subway; G line. No, there's no major travel information inside the station, yes, you just wait on the platform for the next one to arrive - but that's not a problem as you're in Manhattan within 20 minutes and people-watching definitely passes the time. The 62 bus stop is also a similar walking distance. Take it downtown to Dumbo and walk over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. Or get out in Williamsburg and have a big fat breakfast at Egg.

The Loft is straight out of a film set: high ceilings, big windows, plenty of sunlight, all the artwork and fixtures you'd expect. Fresh, clean towels, pretty bed linen and a lovely little bathroom with good pressure and hot hot water. The cleaner was always there and towels constantly refreshed.

When I arrived there were four French girls sharing the space with me. A few days later it was a guy from Holland and two Japanese ladies. Everyone was open, friendly and respectful. Your belongings are safe and if you need anything, Nadine is on hand. She and her lovely husband Terrance have made a smart move providing this alternative hotel experience and I recommend it to anyone looking at the impressive pictures and reading the many positive reviews to do what I did and just book it.

In one of the last mails exchanged with Nadine before my arrival, she said "See you soon, you'll love the lofts". I couldn't imagine how... The place is ideally located, Manhattan is only a few metro stations away, it's ultra clean, modern, but more importantly, Nadine has a knack for bringing together its various tenants, and make it a real family (at worst, you will meet your best friends !). I can't imagine staying anywhere else on my next visit to New York. But I shouldn't reveal it all, I'd like this place to remain secret : my second home !

  • I came to stay with Nadine because I needed a place to stay while I was doing a rehearsal for a show. I have lived in NYC before but the Greenpoint neighborhood was somewhat new to me. Nadine was an AMAZING host and so helpful and caring. I felt very at home while I was there. The beds are comfortable, there is lots of open space, which is very rare for NYC, and the apts are beautiful. You don't normally get to stay in a warehouse flat in NYC so I would HIGHLY SUGGEST STAYING HERE. The Greenpoint area is very cool as well with pleanty of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores around the corner. Its just a couple of train rides into Manhattan, about 25 minutes just across the river! The street is very quiet for a NYC apt, you will want this when you want to sleep, truat me! I think this is the best of both worlds because you get to stay in more of a neighborhood but can be in Manhattan in just minutes. The other people I met/roomed with in the apt were all so so nice and respectful. I made some great friends and had some great conversations with people from all over the world. So if you come here for business or just for visiting and wanna see how a new yorker really lives...stay with Nadine! You seriously wont regret staying here! I promise!

  • We had a great time staying at Nadine's. This was our first time using airbnb and she made it a very smooth and easy experience. Once we were at our destination Nadine and Terrance were very attentive to any of our needs. They were also ready and willing to give us advice on where to go and how to get there. The loft was super cool and very clean and we felt right at home. Thanks so much for a great experience!

  • Nadine's airbnb is exactly what a nomadic traveller needs. Amazing! I'll be back there whenever I go back to NYC.

  • Nadine was a wonderful host! Not only was I able to book a room with fairly short notice (a week and a half prior), but Nadine was also very accommodating when I had an additional guest staying in the room. She set up an air mattress and gave us a warm welcome, making sure we were comfortable and had all of our questions asked.
Nadine's loft was unique and beautiful- converted warehouses are great!
I am definitely looking forward to staying with Nadine the next time I find myself in New York!

About
I am a native New Yorker who never gets bored of the city. I love this town and more so I love to share my knowledge of it with new explorers. I am a teacher of yoga and meditation, and a avid traveler. I have visited Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Holland, Austraila, Israel, Egypt, Mexico, Nicaragua and many parts of the US and still have a few places on my list! It is such a pleasure to host guests from all over the globe, it feels like I am traveling but from home. Staying at a Brooklyn loft is an authentic way to feel the local lifestyle in New York, and come home to enjoy a calm open space after a long day of touring the crowded city. Weather your visit it is short term, long term, business or pleasure I want you to have an awesome time in NYC and do what I can to help make it happen. I look forward to meeting you soon in Brooklyn!
