A traditional Cornish farmers cottage, situated in the riverside village of Calstock.

Inside, you will find an open-plan sitting room and kitchen, an outdoor terrace, a double bedroom, shower room with wash handbasin and WC. The sitting room hosts a sofa bed and log burner

The cottage is located a stones-throw away from the river Tamar, the two local pubs serving great food, the Calstock railway station and a three minute walk from the Calstock boat yard and the shoreline of the river Tamar.

Guest access
Parking - Calstock is full of old country lanes so there is a large free car park in the centre of the village by the river for everyone to use. It takes two minutes to walk to the cottage.

Train - Calstock has it’s own train station around a five minute walk away. This connects you to Plymouth with regular trains to London Paddington.

Cornwall, England, United Kingdom

Eating Out - The Boot and The Tamar Inn are both two minutes walk away, both serve good food. The Cornish Arms in Tavistock is a must. The Peter Tavy on Dartmoor is delicious and the Dartmoor Inn at Merrivale by Eversfield organic is outstanding. Church Lane, Robertson’s and Taylor’s, all in Tavistock all come highly recommended.

Nestled deep in the Tamar Valley the village of Calstock is a great place to explore the surrounding countryside that borders Devon and Cornwall. Dominated by the railway viaduct that brings trains up from Plymouth on the pretty Tamar Valley Line, the village has a thriving arts community with the Old Chapel and village hall regulalry putting on music and theatre events.

From the village it is an easy drive to the National Trust property at Cotehele, alternatively you can walk along the river and through the woods to reach the house and gardens. The valley is also rich in industrial history with World Heritage mining remains dotted about the hillsides and market gardens that are famous for their soft fruit and daffodils.
