The Space

Tons of light all day, quiet while just a minute from the freeway, filled with fun colorful arts and crafts.

You'll enjoy 2 bedrooms, a dining room, a bathroom with a tub / shower, a living room, and a laundry room with a dryer (I'm working on getting a washer!).

The full kitchen has appliances and supplies including a gas stove, coffee machine, electric espresso machine, stovetop espresso machine, refrigerator, blender, toaster, cork screw, plates, glasses, silverware, professional knives, basic spices, cutting boards ... and if you need anything else let me know.

TV can be hooked up to your laptop; I am working on getting cable so check with me if that's important.

Guest Access

The entire upper flat is yours to use with a completely separate, private entrance.

Interaction with Guests

I love saying hello, pointing out all the area highlights that may fit with your time and interests, and making sure you are comfortable. I call myself a food concierge, and it's my delight to share our bounty (and can arrange to give you a private insider tour to local food artisans as well!)

As an avid world traveler, I know how memorable and wonderful great hospitality can be! I also understand that you may just want a nice place to stay without socializing. Whatever makes you happy!

The Neighborhood

An area filled with California Bungalows, we are surrounded by amazing cafes - walk to the new Blue Bottle Coffee on Broadway, morning pastries at Pizzaiolo, Bittersweet Cafe, or the many other bakeries. Stroll down tree-lined College Ave past cute shops and restaurants all the way to the UC Campus.

  • First stop in the Bay Area, we were very impressed with the Rock Ridge and Temescal neighborhoods, as there are plenty of good restaurants and a vibrant street life around the BART stations. Susie our host, was very helpful during the entire stay from the initial phone conversation, directions, details, and suggestions about more permanent housing during our search. The private entry is nice and there is parking on the street. The large upstairs floor is very comfortable and loaded with artwork and amenities. Well stocked. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, snacks, and even some sweet condiments in the fridge. We highly recommend this Artsy abode and could not be happier with our our stay.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Susie's house. It was exactly as described and in a very convenient area to everything. Very quiet. Parking never a problem. There were some issues that were addressed completely and without needed follow up. Enjoy the coffee!

  • We just enjoyed a 2+ week-long stay at Susie's apartment and found it to be the PERFECT option for our extended stay. The apartment is large and comfortable and was always a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. The location is fantastic, situated within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants of College Ave. as well as Oakland's hip up-and-coming Temescal district. Local rail transit (BART) is only a ten-minute walk, making the entire Bay Area easily accessible. Susie was a warm, friendly and accommodating host. I would have no hesitation booking here again or recommending her apartment to others.
