About this listing
1200 Square Foot Victorian in North Knoxville.
Hello! We're Shawn and Dale, a photographer and pie maker who love living in North Knoxville. We have a comfortable fold-out couch with an inflatable mattress in our cozy TV room.
We have a cute little diner just two blocks from our home, and a great hidden gem of a sandwich shop just five blocks away. We're a mile from the Happy Holler area, which boasts a couple bars, some great little restaurants, ice cream, a co-op grocery store and Knoxville's best bakery and a true Knoxville dive bar. We're just two miles from lovely downtown Knoxville.
There's plenty of parking on our street. While we are walkable/bikeable to downtown, there are a few big hills on the 2.5 mile route that make it somewhat strenuous.
Arriving early or late? We can provide you with a code to a lock box with keys so you can check-in and check-out at your convenience.
Guests will have access to all common areas, our sweet little porch, wifi internet, a 42 inch TV in their room, a full kitchen and a bathroom with a pretty epic shower.
Interaction with Guests
It's not uncommon for us to be running around and out of the house for most of your stay, but we've also been known to grab a drink or meal with our guests.
We are located close to downtown, and about one mile from Happy Holler, which has a couple bars, eateries and shops. Our neighborhood isn't glamorous, but it's safe and convenient.
We are about three blocks from a bus line to downtown Knoxville.
Unfortunately we can't allow pets unless they are crated. We have three scaredy cats.

Dale and Shawn and their cats were wonderful hosts. Great restaurant advice, and lovely home. Thanks for having us!
Ps. the fireflies are in full swing.
Shawn and Dale were very welcoming hosts with excellent recommendations for dining, etc. The location was very convenient (ala short drive) to many pubs and eateries. The room and bed were comfortable and the shower was awesome. I enjoyed the big, flat screen in room TV. The porch is a noteworthy perk and should not be missed.
This was my first air bnb experience and everything was great. Dale and Shawn were really welcoming and friendly. We had a good time sitting out on their wonderful porch talking for a bit. I was able to park right across the street. Their house is really cute and clean. The bed was very comfy. Their cats are wonderful. If I'm in Knoxville again I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place there.
During my travel back home I've thought many times of this beautiful place and incredible nice people that live there. As written on the profile this house is situated in an old part of the town with some houses that need to be renovated. But despite of this the neighbourhood is quite and nice to stay at certainly after a hectic day of meetings and discussions. The place is easily accessible even if you have no car. Public transport almost brings you at their door and is only 10 minutes driving from the centre of the town.
But this isn't the best part of this place. The best part is the at one hand the beautiful house with it's cosy interior which is a mix of vintage and trendy looks and on the other hand the great inhabitants. Not only are Dale and Shawn lovely, warmhearted people they are also cultured and fun to talk with. They have 3 beautiful cats which are very sociable.
The house has personality and was clean. It really felt as a home where you would love to live.
I can't say any negative experience. It just was an unforgettable experience!
Dale and Shawn were great! Inviting, easy to get along with and they had a great space. I contacted them last minute because something else fell through, and they were totally accommodating. I'll be getting in touch next time I'm in Knoxville.
About the Host, Dale
I'm a food truck owner in Knoxville and live with my husband, Shawn, a photographer and all-around awesome dude, and our three cats (we will keep them out of your room during your stay but folks with serious allergies probably won't be comfortable in our house).
We like: cooking and eating, traveling, reading, drinking coffee/tea/bourbon/champagne (depending on mood and time of day) and kayaking/fishing/swimming/generally being around water.
As travelers, we love to walk around neighborhoods, eat, drink and relax. We're not often big on seeing every tourist spot, going to every museum, or cramming our days with a full itinerary, but we love getting to know the feel of new places and having good conversations with new people.
