Hampstead Heath, Dog & Kid Friendly

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Lamble St, London, NW5 4AH, United Kingdom

A modernist masterpiece with a gorgeous roof terrace 3mins from Hampstead Heath. It is a lovely area for families and great transport access means we are perfect for a business trip, holiday or quick weekend away.

The Space

Our house is a wonderful modernist masterpiece three minutes walk from Hampstead Heath, which is London's largest and most beautiful park. Our guests stay in the large master bedroom which has a beautiful gold bed and full-width wall to ceiling windows, that give direct access to a delightful roof garden which is full of gorgeous roses all summer long.

We welcome children as guests and have a travel cot for smaller children and a mattress that we can put on the floor for larger children.

Our home is definitely one for dog lovers - we have two beautiful dogs (a big white poodle and a small grey whippet). The dogs are very well behaved and love guests.

Our area is a wonderful base for a London business trip, holiday or quick weekend away. We have several easy links into central London (via the 24 or C2 buses and the tube at Belsize Park which is a seven minute walk away) and we are three minutes from the Gospel Oak Overground station which links directly to stations in both West and East London, including Shepherd's Bush for the Westfield shopping centre and Stratford for the Olympic village. We are a three minute walk from Hampstead Heath which is a huge and beautiful park full of woodlands and meadows and has amazing views over London. It also has an outdoor swimming pool some gorgeous swimming ponds, and an exquisite stately home (Kenwood House) that featured in the movie Notting Hill. Hampstead Village is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride away and is full of beautiful shops, restaurants and cafes. There are also three great pubs within a short walk of our house, two of which serve really brilliant food if you decide you want to eat locally while you are with us.

Celebrities love our area - one of the Monty Pythons live next door to us, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin live five minutes away.

It is also a great area for kids - with an outdoor swimming pool, several playgrounds and a brilliant city farm (with pigs, horses, cows, chickens, geese and goats) all within a five minute walk of the house.

Guest Access

We have broadband (wifi) which guests can use free of charge.
We also have a parking space which can be booked for an additional fee of £10 per day (when available) - if you want to use the parking space please let us know as soon as possible so we can confirm availability.
Our guests stay in the large master bedroom which has a beautiful gold bed and full-width wall to ceiling windows, that give direct access to a delightful private roof garden which is full of gorgeous roses all summer long. The bathroom is adjacent to the master bedroom, and guests have sole use of it except for ten minutes in the evening when our little daughter has her bath.
The guest bedroom is on the open plan second floor, whereas the other bedrooms in the house are in the lower-ground floor so you will have high levels of privacy.

Interaction with Guests

We provide our guests with a delicious continental breakfast of muesli, organic yoghourt, croissants, juice and coffee or tea. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen at other points in the day.
We are a young family who have travelled widely and adore meeting new people. Our three year old daughter also loves meeting people and would love to show you her toys though guests are not obliged to play with her! We love living in our area and will be more than happy to give you advice on getting around the city and finding the most wonderful things to see, do and eat.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
Gabriella

  • We loved staying at Steve's! The apartment is close to the overground line and a variety of buses, and we found it extremely convenient to get around. The room itself was very nice, with access to a cute little outdoor area, and we slept quite comfortably in the bed. We loved meeting Steve and Fanny's dogs and daughter -- everybody was adorable!

  • I honestly don´t understand how many positive comments there are here about this b&b. We felt very disappointed. The house didn´t look at all like the pictures online, it was very dirty and messy..sad to say almost filthy (not in our bedroom, that was ok and the bed was very nice and warm).
We felt it was not ok especially as we have a 7 months old baby. The open terrace was very unwelcoming as well because of all the dog feces everywhere. The first two days it was crazy cold in the whole house and the electric heater wasn´t helping much at all since there is no door in the room (another weird thing). Then we asked them to turn up the heat and it was perfect the last 2 days.
Fanny, Steve and their cute daughter Storm are very nice and helpful people but the whole b&b experience itself was very negative.

    Response from Fanny & Steve:

    Hi Sikku

Very pleased that you enjoyed meeting us as we enjoyed hosting you.

Our house is professionally cleaned weekly and before each guest arrives, as well as an industrial deep clean every six months. The house itself is a family home with dogs and our small daughter and we ensure that it is kept clean not just for our guests but throughout as we live here.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy staying in our home as much as all of our other guests, and also that you did not mention the aspects of our home you were unhappy with while you were here. We would prefer to understand how to make our guests experience as wonderful as possible.

Alternatively we could have helped you to find different AirBNB accommodation without children and dogs, or perhaps a hotel would have made more sense for you and your young family? If you want a refund just let me know.

    Best wishes, Steve

  • Steve was an interesting and friendly host. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet Fanny. The location is perfect for getting to Hampstead Heath or Camden which was what we were looking for. The pictures on Airbnb are not quite representative of the actual state of the flat. A proper door for the guest room that locks to separate from the rest of the flat would be better for more privacy. We wish Steve all the best.

  • Comfortable stay during our 4 day trip in London. Buses to the city are a short walk away, good breakfast, very sweet and quiet dogs.

  • Staying with Fanny Steve and Storm was a absolute pleasure, they provide a warm and homely environment. They were very hospitable and informative of the local area. I wouldn't hesitate to give anyone looking to stay in London my highest recommendation in choosing to stay here. Brett Frizelle

  • I did not have a chance to meet Fanny, but I met Steve and he was really nice guy and made me feel comfortable at all time. Plus he put up with me and my crazy coffee drinking habits :)

The room itself is cozy, warm and pretty private as it is on it's own floor. But my favorite thing about the room was that I could hear birds singing in the morning and that made the room so much nicer.

Both dogs are very friendly, well trained and never barked at me - not even one.

I stayed there for a week and would consider staying there again.
