Our house is a beautiful modernist masterpiece three minutes away from Hampstead Heath, which is London's largest and most beautiful park. Our guests stay in our large master bedroom which has a beautiful antique gold bed and huge wall to ceiling windows that give direct access to a wonderful roof garden which is full of roses all summer long. The bathroom is adjacent to the master bedroom, and guests have sole use of it except for ten minutes in the evening when our little daughter has her bath. The master bedroom is on the first floor, whereas the other bedrooms in the house are in the basement so you will have high levels of privacy.
We provide our guests with a delicious continental breakfast of muesli, organic yoghourt, croissants, juice and coffee or tea. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen at other points in the day.
We have broadband (wifi) which guests can use free of charge. We also have a parking space which can be booked for an additional fee of £8 when available (if you want to use the parking space please let us know as soon as possible and we will send you a link to our Parkatmyhouse account).
Our house is definitely one for animal lovers - we have two beautiful dogs (a big white poodle and a small grey whippet) and a fluffy white rabbit. The dogs are very well behaved and love guests, and the rabbits live in a cage and look pretty! Guest dogs are very welcome for an additional £5 per night - we ask that they stay in your bedroom to avoid any late night games with the host dogs.
We also welcome children as guests and have a travel cot for smaller children and a mattress that we can put on the floor for larger children.
Our area is a wonderful base for a London business trip, holiday or quick weekend away. We have several easy links into central London (via the 24 or C2 buses and the tube at Belsize Park which is a seven minute walk away) and we are three minutes from the Gospel Oak Overground station which links directly to stations in both West and East London, including Shepherd's Bush for the Westfield shopping centre and Stratford for the Olympic village. We are a three minute walk from Hampstead Heath which is a huge and beautiful park full of woodlands and meadows and has amazing views over London. It also has an outdoor swimming pool some gorgeous swimming ponds, and an exquisite stately home (Kenwood House) that featured in the movie Notting Hill. Hampstead Village is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride away and is full of beautiful shops, restaurants and cafes. There are also three great pubs within a short walk of our house, two of which serve really brilliant food if you decide you want to eat locally while you are with us.
Celebrities love our area - one of the Monty Pythons live next door to us, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin live five minutes away.
It is also a great area for kids - with an outdoor swimming pool, several playgrounds and a brilliant city farm (with pigs, horses, cows, chickens, geese and goats) all within a five minute walk of the house.
We are a young couple who have travelled widely and adore meeting new people. Our three year old daughter also loves meeting people and would love to show you her toys though guests are not obliged to play with her! We love living in our area and will be more than happy to give you advice on getting around the city and finding the most wonderful things to see, do and eat.
Staying with Fanny Steve and Storm was a absolute pleasure, they provide a warm and homely environment. They were very hospitable and informative of the local area. I wouldn't hesitate to give anyone looking to stay in London my highest recommendation in choosing to stay here. Brett Frizelle
Travelling with my teenage daughter we: had a really comfortable stay at Fanny's and Steve's place - and very nice breakfasts!
Situation idéale et très bon accueil. Petit déjeuner complet correct
I did not have a chance to meet Fanny, but I met Steve and he was really nice guy and made me feel comfortable at all time. Plus he put up with me and my crazy coffee drinking habits :)
The room itself is cozy, warm and pretty private as it is on it's own floor. But my favorite thing about the room was that I could hear birds singing in the morning and that made the room so much nicer.
Both dogs are very friendly, well trained and never barked at me - not even one.
I stayed there for a week and would consider staying there again.
So sweet people! The stay was really wonderful and I´m hoping to get back soon:-) Next time I hope to have time to enjoy a cop of the at the magnificent teresse:-) Can only recommend this place
Yes Fanny and Steve are helpful hosts, and quite pleasant to chat with. Despite this, we are surprised at how many positive reviews there are of this home. The house itself was very messy and unclean – nothing like the photos.
Yes, our room was clean, but there were dog droppings right outside our window onto the terrace. Most unappealing. The host apologized for them, but after 2 days we still had to ask for them to be removed.
The rabbit cage was dirty and flies buzzed around the house. We were served a (very nice) breakfast right next to the stinky cage.
The dogs were as charming and well-behaved as the hosts, but that didn’t make up for our unsatisfactory experience. Regretfully, we could not recommend this BnB to anyone.
Dear Carmen - we are so very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We make every effort to keep our home clean and wonderful for our guests, but as it says in our listing ours is a house with dogs, rabbits and a small child. Luckily most of our guests seem to enjoy this! We are always happy to give refunds to our guests if they do not enjoy their stay - please do get in touch with us if you would like us to do this for you. Very best wishes, Fanny
We spent a wonderful time in London with the cozy accommodation in Fanny and (website hidden): their daughter is pretty cute.
Lovely stay at Fanny's and Steve's. The room was lovely, clean and cosy. The location was great and the breakfast, included, was so sweet- what a nice touch!
All in all a short but great stay, the only issue we had was that we couldn't stay longer!
We had a brief, but enjoyable stay with Fanny who warmly welcomed us into their home. The location was perfect for enjoying the Heath nearby which was a wonderful escape in London. Overall, we would recommend staying with Fanny
I came to London with my 12-year old daughter for one week and stayed at Fanny's home (though of course most of the time we were in the move exploring London.. :) . We had very great time, Fanny and her family are very nice people, they helped us in every question we had very kindly, and overall our first b&b experience was very successful. The room was clean and cosy, and as an architect I appreciated the apartment's layout and the light that came in from many roof-windows.
The dogs were great and the little daughter, Storm, very lovely. Recommended!
